Jeepz 0 Posted August 20, 2010 Well, that was a total desperation pick. I had a neighborhood walk to go to and was headed out the door just as it came around to my turn. I'm not sure QB2 was the direction I needed to go right now, but there you are.
RLLD 4,219 Posted August 20, 2010 10.10 Ben Rapistburger - I have Manning, who is never hurt.....so I can afford to invest in a guy who wont play for at least the first handful of games, but could come back and return to beast status pretty quickly.... 11.01 Eddie Royal - As many of you may recall I made the correct call on him last year, but this year I feel strongly that his coach learned his lesson, and Royal WILL return to post much better numbers.....not that he will replicate his production of two years ago, but as a #4 WR, at the 11.01 pick, he WILL outproduce that location.... Jeepz 0 Posted August 20, 2010 Thoughts on the Edelman pick? I hear that Welker is back in a solid way, but what about Edelman as the outside guy? Do you think he's got any value if Welker is indeed back and stays healthy?

Do you think he's got any value if Welker is indeed back and stays healthy? Love the Edelman pick, I think the guy is solid. I also speculate that Welker does not last the entire season. My only concern now is the clear intent of the team to make the run a focal point. I think it hurts TD's for the passing portion profoundly, and I think ultimately it could make guys like Edelman disappear entirely....

Do you think he's got any value if Welker is indeed back and stays healthy? IF Welker doesn't last the whole season, then it's a great pick. But you shouldn't draft banking on injury. In that case, the Edelman pick is just ok. He'll have his moments, but will you ever be able to pinpoint when those are? So lack of consistency....and lack of upside if Welker returns to form. Not a bad pick...and if you really like Edelman, then this is a good place to take him.
Jeepz 0 Posted August 20, 2010 I don't know if I really like him, but he's a tad more exciting (potentially) than some of the others staring me in the face at the time. As I said, bit of a desperation tandem pick because I was walking out the door for the evening. This part of the draft is no-man's land for strategy for me. A different direction might have been warranted with some of the RBs on the table. If I had a re-do I'd take one of them over the second QB there, then I might feel better about Edelman. Did a mock on ESPN from my family draft position (fourth in a 10-team snake) and I can say doing this really helped tighten up that strategy. This has been solid. Jeepz 0 Posted August 26, 2010 I just need a kicker. This last round is going to fast, I haven't been looking at kickers, I have no idea who to pick! Okay okay, deep breaths, don't let the draft get out of control, it's just one pick. Let it come to me, I'll be fine.
remote controller 143 Posted August 26, 2010 splain...... Board regulars dropped the ball on it. This shouldn't ever happen. I don't want anybody to take this as a personal attack, but this group of guys should finish these mocks just as excited as we started them, and we dropped the ball on it. Commentary stops when weekeneds go by with no activity. This thing got shelved by it's participants and we let the site down.

As in people should be commenting on their teams and others during the entire draft? I didn't comment anyomre becuase others weren't commenting. In addition, when it comes to your 4th or 5th RB or WR, there's not a whole lot to say anymore. I guess I'm not totally sure what you're referring to. Gladiators 1,986 Posted August 26, 2010 If you'd like, maybe everyone could prepare a little round-by-round review of their own teams to submit to Mike. I'm not sure who all looks at this type of mock, or the commentary. Is it published on the main page of the site? Either way, I'm up for whatever. I have to admit that, similar to all my real (money league) drafts, I'm ususually not real excited by the time we hit round 10. I'm still "in" the draft, but the difference between drafting Darren McFadden, Laurence Maroney, Kenny Britt, or etc. doesn't get me excited anymore.
remote controller 143 Posted August 26, 2010 As long as drafts are moving forward people tend to stay attached and comment. Once they lag so does the interest of the ones drafting and the ones following. Just something we normally don't experience here during one of our drafts. Just something we normally don't experience here during one of our drafts. Fair enough...I do agree that it seemed to take quite a while, but I thought it was normal since Mike said it would take 1-2 weeks. It ended up taking about 2 weeks. I was pretty much always ready to make my picks, but it does get a little discouraging when there's a 4+ hour delay between picks during the day. Obviously work takes prescedence, but if you aren't sure whether your work schedule will allow for it, don't sign up to do it.
WhiteWonder 2,733 Posted August 26, 2010 with this being the heart of FF draft season, i think we did just fine. im sure everyone was dealing with a bunch of real life drafts and commish duties, i know i was. not an excuse, but i dont think there were too many delays that were not weekend or over night. Jeepz 0 Posted August 27, 2010 I like the idea of round by round commentary - why we chose who we did, who else we might have been considering at that pick, etc.
