montana 89 Posted August 21, 2010 10 Team redraft. I had the 10th pick, snake style: 1.RB Mendenhall 2.RB Mathews 3.RB Thomas 4.WR White 5.QB Cutler 6.WR Smith(NYG) 7.WR S.Moss 8.TE Celek 9.WR Sims-Walker 10.RB Forsett 11.WR Floyd 12.QB Roethlisberger 13.WR Gaffney 14.RB C.Taylor 15.DEF Saints (why not? I rarely draft a Def any earlier, I usually play flavor of the wk) 16.PK Vinatieri (any word on this guy?) broken down by position in my sig below 1 qb 2 rb 2 wr 1 te 1 flex (rb/wr/te) 1 pk 1 def standard scoring
MicktheGreat 1 Posted August 21, 2010 10-Team Keeper League. Non-PPR. Start 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1K/1DEF. Flexible Keeper League, meaning that each team can keep 3-5 players. If you keep 3 players, you get to keep all of your draft picks. If you keep 4 players, you forfeit your first draft pick. If you keep 5 players, you forfeit your first & second draft pick. Scoring: TDs (Pass/Rush/Rec) = 6 points 25 yds Passing = 1 point 10 yds Rush/Rec = 1 point INT/Fumble = -2 points My Keepers (kept 5): 1. RB Maurice Jones-Drew 2. RB DeAngelo Williams 3. WR Larry Fitzgerald 4. RB Shonn Greene (forfeited 1st Round Pick, 1.10) 5. RB Jamaal Charles (forfeited 2nd Round Pick, 2.1) My Draft (from 10 spot): 3.10 - WR Wes Welker 4.1 - WR Vincent Jackson 5.10 - TE Brent Celek 6.1 - QB Kevin Kolb 7.10 - QB Ben Roethlisberger 8.1 - WR Pierre Garcon 9.10 - RB Marion Barber 10.1 - TE Zach Miller 11.10 - WR Santonio Holmes 12.1 - WR Chris Chambers 13.10 - RB Marshawn Lynch 14.1 - DEF Miami Dolphins 15.10 - WR Mike Williams (TB) ***IMPORTANT NOTE: Because ours is a flexible keeper league with a relatively high keeper-count (i.e. possible 5 keepers for each team), our particular draft seems to skew a couple of rounds high. That is, a 3rd round pick in our draft (e.g. Wes Welker, above) would probably be more like a 5th round pick in a standard draft. A 6th round pick in our draft (e.g. Kevin Kolb, above) would probably be more like a 8th round pick in a standard draft. Etc. So take that skewing into account when considering the above picks.***

At 10 he represents fair value. I predict a deal will get done to trade him sometime in the 1st couple weeks of the season, and that he will play somewhere else (very likely Seatle) after his suspension. BTW, great draft! kcBlitzkrieg 18 Posted August 23, 2010 12 Team PPR, Drafting from the 6 spot. I dreaded the mid round pick here but it turned out ok after the 4 spot took AJ & 5 went MJD, had a QB run early with 5pt TDs. This draft was done last Sunday 8.15, Foster has been shooting up the board since then. I wanted J.Knox and could have had him in the 7th but took Celek instead and Knox went right before me in the 8th. I went for a platoon for my WR3 after I missed him. I nabbed Bradshaw after Jacobs but now a week later and I would take Ahmad first and still get him a round or two later. Starting lineup: QB 2RB 3WR FLEX TE K DST Draft from the 6th spot... Laurence Maroney's Nuts 2 Posted August 23, 2010 Joined a friend's reasonably decent money league ($200 entry)... I figured all the guys would be top shelf players... not quite... were a few "wtf" picks... Don't have the draft list handy, and should have it tomorrow or next day, but off the top of my head, I remember: Lesean McCoy lasting until late 4th or early 5th round. Zach Miller going in the 5th round! McFadden going in the 4th round. Arian Foster went in the 6th. 12 team, ppr. (I ended up drafting the riskiest team I've ever assembled... still queasy from my picks)
Jeepz 0 Posted August 23, 2010 10-team snake, PPR, 6pts all TDs, 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1 RB/WR flex I was drafting from the fourth spot. 1.04 - RB MJD, JAC (RB1) 2.07 - RB Grant, GB (RB2) 3.04 - WR Megatron, DET (WR1) 4.07 - WR DJax, PHI (WR2) 5.04 - QB Flacco, BAL (QB1) 6.07 - RB Foster, HOU (RB3) 7.04 - WR Wallace, PIT (WR3) 8.07 - RB Caddy, TB (RB4) 9.04 - WR Floyd, SD (WR4) 10.07 - TE Cooley, WAS (TE1) 11.04 - WR TO, CIN (WR5) 12.07 - QB McNabb, WAS (QB2) 13.04 - RB Chester Taylor, CHI (RB5) 14.07 - RB Ward, HOU (RB6) 15.04 - DST Cincy 16.07 - K Prater DEN Biggest surprises/frustrations for me were: Top-7 QBs going by 3.09 (29th overall). This really surprised me, though maybe it shouldn't have. I really wanted one of them in the fourth, and reached for Flacco in the fifth because the guy picking next to missed on a QB and I thought he'd move early, and I didn't want Eli or Cutler or Ryan, and didn't want Kolb since I had DJax and was targeting Celek. Obviously missed out on Celek, too *shrug* By Round 9 people were taking their QB2 so in a way I'm glad I acted when I did, but still wasn't what I'd planned. Surprised that Ryan Mathews went in the 3rd, was really hoping for him in the 4th if I didn't get a QB .. unrealistic? Surprised that PThomas, McCoy, and Greene went in the 4th, but then shouldn't be with the way the QBs went so early. Personally surprised that I went with Megatron. Nothing against him, just don't really know or follow him other than what I've read. Obviously hoping for big things as my WR1. Hoping DJax as WR2 doesn't comeback to bite me, but I like my depth behind him. I now read that Ward could be on the bubble, so thinking of Leon Washington on pre-season waivers. Also not the most thrilled with McNabb as my QB2, only because I wonder if there's another QB2 with better upside. Have a feeling McNabb is projected at his ceiling. the bosses 0 Posted August 23, 2010 12 team non-ppr. 6 pts. all TD's WR/RB 3 points for 100 yds and 1 per 25 after that. TE 2 points for 50 yds and 1 per 25 after that. QB 3 points for 300 yds and 3 for every 100 after that. Start QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,TE,K,DST Drafting out of the 6 hole. 1. MJD (Went CJ, ADP, AJ, Turner, Gore) 2. Austin 3. B. Marshall 4. j. Finley (early and I bought into a run. I only made the playoffs last year on his 2 td. Monday night game. really wanted him) 5. Crabtree 6. J. Best 7. Forte 8. Cutler and McGahee (extra pick via trade last year. 9. M. Williams TB Buffalo and Miami D's I saw a ton of value still sitting around at RB and feel that I was rewarded by going WR and TE in 3 and 4. I guess the league is down on Chicago. This league has a salary cap and you can only have 4 players at any position. this leads to my minor dilemma of not having enough salary cap to get a kicker. I will deal with that later. We also have a IR system so if anyone is questionable for Week 1 I can use the cap space to grab a kicker. Thanks for looking. the bosses 0 Posted August 23, 2010 Would u mind posting your entire draft? That is it. One can only have 4 players at any position (2 defenses) and we have a salary cap. This shortens our draft a bit but also ensures that there are free agents available which bodes well for the guys who put in a little work throughout the year. We Tigers 71 Posted August 24, 2010 Tonight I had a 16-teamer, QB/2RB/3WR/TE/K/D, standard scoring except that return yards are 1 pt/20. It's a mix of knowledgeable players and casual players. I was picking at 12, and things went pretty well, though I felt like I could have done better in rounds 4-7. In hindsight, I made a couple luxury picks there. Some observations on hot players of late: Arian Foster went off the board as RB27 (pick #65), and Michael Bush just a little earlier as RB24 (pick #58). Ahmad Bradshaw fell only a few spots by position (RB34) but plummeted all the way to pick #108, where I snagged him. The rookies: Ryan Mathews was RB9 (#15), Jahvid Best RB16 at #40, and I took CJ Spiller as RB29, #85 overall. He was my first real luxury pick and my 3rd RB behind Benson and Charles, but in a league that counts return yards I couldn't let him go. I probably should have taken a 3rd receiver here given the starting requirements. Someone still had confidence in Dez Bryant despite his pre-season injury, as he went WR26, #71 overall. QBs: All 7 of the consensus "elite" QBs (including Rivers) went off the board in the first 32 picks. Kevin Kolb was QB10 at pick #67. Jermichael Finley went TE6 at #69, ahead of only Tony Gonzalez among the consensus top 7 TEs. Skepticism on Owen Daniels after his injury had him go off as a backup in round 10 as TE16. If you're drafting on Yahoo and like Chris Cooley, like him even more; the Yahoo ranks have him below Carlson, Daniels, Winslow, and both Millers, so he was an easy grab as TE13. The Bears WRs: They went one after another, with Knox as WR33 (#92), Aromashodu as WR38 (#103), and Hester as WR40 (#107). And finally, some late-round flyers at WR: I'll mention my three favorites, all of whom I managed to get. Jacoby Jones was WR48, Jabar Gaffney was WR58, and Mike Williams (TB) was WR61. No one seemed to care about Gaffney, but 3 or 4 owners were pissed when I took Jones and Williams, having hoped to get them a round or two later. A couple more that have gotten some buzz here lately: Dexter McCluster was WR67, Julian Edelman was WR59, and Mike Thomas was undrafted. Lessons learned: A lot of the guys who have been getting hyped lately are, in fact, being taken in accordance with that hype, and you may have to move on them a round or two earlier than their current ADP to get them. Also, in a large league, anything goes; there was a ton of WR value in rounds 6 and 7 here, and a lot of RBs going 15-25 spots lower than average in rounds 7-10. Finally, value is great, but at a certain point you do have to draft for need. Instead of going Nicks/McNabb/Spiller in rounds 4-6, I probably could have gone Kolb/Spiller/Owens or Floyd. Taking a 4th RB before I had my WR3--especially when we have to start 3WR--was a mistake, but hopefully one that can be worked around if just one of the three late-round prospects pan out. Hope that was helpful--for anyone else in a big league draft, feel free to ask more questions.
