PATSSOX 22 Posted November 13, 2010 from Rotoworld: Report: Vikes' Rice to make 2010 debut Sunday Citing two sources, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Sidney Rice (hip) "is expected" to make his 2010 debut Sunday at Chicago. The decision -- to be made by Rice -- won't be finalized until a Saturday light practice, but the contract-year wideout entered the week expecting to play in Week 10 and has avoided setbacks. Rice is expected to be activated to the 53-man roster tomorrow, although he's not remotely a quality fantasy play at less than 100 percent, on a snap count, and in an unfavorable matchup. The Bears have allowed a league-low five touchdown passes this season. Nov. 12 - 7:05 pm et Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press I was able to get him in 2 of 4 leagues. Just happens the 2 i dont really need WRs in But he can be nice trade bait or make another WR expendable. I dont expect much out of him atleast this week but will be very curious to see how he looks. madd futher mucker 36 Posted November 13, 2010 Im turning into a pessimist here, and I own him in at least 3 leagues: Rotoworld: According to ESPN's Tom Pelissero, "nobody" around the Vikings expects Sidney Rice (hip) to regain his 2009 form "anytime soon." Pelissero suspects it could "take the balance of the season" for Rice to regain his old form and get into playing shape. Rice also admitted Friday that he's not 100 percent while calling his long-term prospects "huge" when it comes to deciding when and whether to resume playing. According to Rice, he's "just not as fast, not as quick, don't have that explosion that I used to." Two of my leagues are either no-trade or deep leeper where I have no choice but to hold. I'm going to put out some immediate trade feelers in my Auction league and see if i can turn a quick profit into a player I have more confidence in. I believe that his greatest value could be right now on the trading block!
Perennial Contender 18 Posted November 13, 2010 The Bears may have only given up 5 TD's thus far BUT Chicago fields the 19th-ranked pass defense. Law of averages will catch up.
Perennial Contender 18 Posted November 13, 2010 For what its worth they showed him practicing on the local news and he looked good. No limp, moving freely, laughing, running , jumping, making catches. I think he will be a huge factor/contributor the 2nd half. I also believe that Rice being ready factored into the release of Moss. JMO, we'll see.

I hope he has a good week this week and so does Moss That way i can put both on the market and see what i can get Our trade deadline is the 19th so the better be good this week
IGotWorms 4,063 Posted November 13, 2010 I'm not optimistic. We'll see what happens, but hip surgery is a pretty big deal so I find it hard to believe that you could come back that same season and still be nearly as effective.
gridiron whirlwinds 10 Posted November 13, 2010 I think it will be awhile before Sidney sees a majority of the snap......he may not be as good this year as he was last year...in terms of speed and his cuts and being in football shape. With that being said.....he did NOT lose his soft hands and 6'4" frame.
browns16-0 30 Posted November 13, 2010 Does this make Percy Harvin a better play or worse? It seemed when Moss was a vertical threat it opened up things for Harvin underneath. But, he has also been tearing it up since Moss left, so not sure where this leaves him.

Especially now coming back from this bad injury i highly doubt defenses will assign 2 players to Rice. Harvin was good last year when Rice was healthy but not like he was in games when Moss was in Minnesota.
vroompac 2 Posted November 13, 2010 Give him a few weeks and Im betting he will be worth a start from weeks 12 on.
lguero1 4 Posted November 13, 2010 I agree with previous poster. Week 12 is target week. Childress will look at Berrian's performance last week and think that he doesn't have to rush Rice back. Next week he'll read this post and get Rice more snaps because even Childress knows I am a fantasy guru. Week 12, Rice will gel.
Perennial Contender 18 Posted November 14, 2010 He's not playin'. Probably another Childress Brainchild decision. They showed him on the news again tonight practicing and he looked fully recovered. Unbelievable.

I read it was Rice's decision if he would be active or not
Perennial Contender 18 Posted November 14, 2010 I read it was Rice's decision if he would be active or not Rice said he didn't want to suit up if it was only going to be in a "limited role", which is determined by Chilly. Yeah I know bring him back slow but if he is practicing at full speed, they are in a must win game, no more Moss, Percy hurting, etc.
kliquid 1 Posted November 14, 2010 Hey I'd rather have him be healthy than put him in my lineup and have him do nothing.
Perennial Contender 18 Posted November 14, 2010 Hey I'd rather have him be healthy than put him in my lineup and have him do nothing. That's my point. All indications are that be is healthy and back at full speed. They showed him on the local news running full spee, making leaping catches, etc.. Childress the dictator. GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted November 14, 2010 Done. I have Vincent Jackson and Rice stashed, but needed some juice this week. You're not the only one. I'll bet this exact combination is happening in quite a few leagues. Specifically, playing Manningham this week and stashing Sydney Rice and Vincent Jackson for the playoff run. I dumped Steve Smith(Giants) this week to get Manningham in the lineup.
