Puddleglum 0 Posted January 21, 2011 DrJ with 2 names over here? Funny, this was spouted over at FBG by DrJ. And in response...rankings. Speaking of that site, can someone explain to me what the history/background is between it and this site? I see people here referring to it as "the site that we don't talk about", or whatever, what's the deal with that? Reading some of the forums over there, there seems to be a similar "feel" as well as common members, so I'm assuming there's some history. Is this taboo to ask about? All I know was that Sweetness banished himself from here and ended up in that Phantom Zone in some type of Superman II-like scenario when his Dumb & Dumber thread took a huge turn for the worse.... ....and that the Bears fans there make the Bears fan here look like braniacs.... and that Dr. J posts at both A little heavier traffic over there, too.... swamp dog 0 Posted January 21, 2011 looks like it's gonna be nippy sunday in chi: high of 18 and a windchill at -10 http://www.wunderground.com/US/IL/Chicago.html doesn't look like it's going to be that windy, so the biggest thing for passing games will be if the qbs and wrs can feel their fingers or not

bjsteel 34 Posted January 22, 2011 It's been a high of negatives all week.... 18 would be tropical.... No wind is good for the Packers Being in the negatives all week and up to 18 on game day only matters if you've been practicing in the negaive temps all week...I doubt that has happened, so 18 will be cold to all players involved, not tropical!!! Not much wind is indeed good for the passing game, but not in the cold, bad field conditions and no running game for the pack will do them in! There won't be any 300yd 3td game this week for any QB this week, the team that plays the best D will win a close game.
bjsteel 34 Posted January 22, 2011 Martz (offensive genius) vs Capers (defensive genius), is going to to fun to watch! The fact that the Bears wanted GB QB coach Clements as their first choice to coach the O, only to be shunned by McCarthy, just might give Martz an added incentive to prove everyone wrong! donhaas 18 Posted January 22, 2011 Martz (offensive genius) LOL I'm not sure what type of genius gets fired by the crapass Lions and then the crapass 49ers within a 2 year span

The fact that the Bears wanted GB QB coach Clements as their first choice to coach the O, only to be shunned by McCarthy, just might give Martz an added incentive to prove everyone wrong! martz certainly made me eat my words this year, but you've got to know there is no way the bears are built for the long-term relying on martz. this has to be some sort of record for him (as per consistent winning success)during the past decade. i mean, it's been working for a couple of months. maybe it keeps working for two more weeks...dunno. but martz isn't sticking around chicago--and if he does, you'll eventually wish he hadn't. and sooner rather than later. don't forget you bear fans were ready to run him out of town on a rail after that giant's game. and the entire offseason was spent ranting that angelo and lovie needed to go as well. now all of a sudden everything's hunky dorey? well, i guess it is--now (literally). today. but i wouldn't have faith in that bunch in the long run. maybe in the long run this current success hurts (like wanny and his 13-3 season that saved his hide and delayed the inevitable). then again, maybe this bunch solidifies into something consistently good...but i just don't see it. not taking anything away from the current bears team and the good year you've had. just saying. the bears are good, they've got good players in some key spots...but the whole just doesn't feel "stable" to me. know what i mean? sort of like the stuff wayne fontes used to pull out of his ass on occasion with the lions. the packers are probably better positioned to be consistently good moving forward than any other team in the nfcn. i'd like to think the lions are as well...but past history tempers hope. anyway. here's to a good game sunday. not having a horse in the race, it's going to be fun game for me to watch. good luck to all whichever team wins better hope they also win the super bowl: history has shown that the following year isn't kind to the super bowl loser

Walter34 3 Posted January 22, 2011 All the analysis and bravado is kind of pointless this week. Any Pack or Bear fan that isn't excited and incredibly nervous heading into this one is just kidding themselves. These teams have played each other tough regardless of the matchups and previous games against other teams. This is the most important Chi - GB game in the history of the NFL's two most storied franchises. It's mind boggling that they haven't met in the playoffs since 1941. Hopefully the game lives up to the hype.

Walter34 3 Posted January 23, 2011 This would probably be an unnecessary roughness penalty, but might be worth the 15 yards: http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z420/SOB-AT23/164151_10150389544355704_572620703_16906685_1318361_n.jpg?t=1295629190
donhaas 18 Posted January 23, 2011 Packers dominate early and often Starks breaks off a long run in the first half.... finishes with 88 Rodgers 3 TD passes (Jones,Driver,Lee) Woodson and Tramon each get an INT from a confused Harland Williams trying to run a "chocolate" offense But youngster Sam Shields gets the "dagger" late in the third quarter bring a Cutler TD pass back for a TD... Bears fans wobble their 300-pound Polish Sausage-eating asses out of Soldier Field.... come back shortly to grab their crying husbands.... Gepetto 1,373 Posted January 25, 2011 Man Fired for Wearing Packers Tie http://www.wgntv.com/news/wgntv-packers-fan-fired-for-tie-jan24,0,7543790.story CHICAGO — John Stone never imagined he could be fired for wearing a necktie, but that's what happened to him on Monday The 34-year-old father of two was fired from his job as a car salesman at a suburban Chicago car dealership for wearing a Green Bay Packers tie. When WGNTV approached Stone's manager at Webb Chevrolet in Oak Lawn, he admitted that yes, they fired Stone for wearing the tie. General Manager Jerry Roberts said he told Stone to take it off or they'd fire him. Stone refused. Stone's 91-year-old grandmother, a huge Packers fan, too, died a couple of weeks ago and he says he was wearing the tie for her.
