(Pro sports, skiing, etc.) But as for vacationing, to leave the island for a bit is awesome, but I miss it pretty quick. I love gambling and drinking, so Vegas outta fit the bill. I tend to go to cooler locations, literally, to snow ski, as well as climb and mountain bike, activities for which HI has little to offer. And people get "island fever" if they stay put too long. Vegas is referred to as the "9th island" by Hawaiians, as it is probably the most popular off-island destination (Japan and Disneyland are popular, too). Personally I don't get it, but I don't share enthusiasm for Vegas' main attractions, besides prostitution. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
