The Hood 9 Posted October 4, 2011 So as a Bears fan yes I'm very worried about the Suh and whoever else will be playing on the D-Line against our weak O-line. Looks like maybe they got the right guys in the right positions last week to possibly get to being a mediocre line instead of horrible. If Bears can run the ball again with good success this should be a great game. But must say I'm shocked Lions fans are really excited about getting to see Julius Peppers again. Really? Lined up again against that turnstile you have at left tackle? Might as well start sizing up Stafford for a flak jacket now........... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CkORRd1I6k

donhaas 19 Posted October 4, 2011 you might want to be a tad more concerned about the bears keeping cutler upright than you are about stafford. free tip. Free tips are back I was thinking I was going to have to pay for this info! Cutler sucks... the Bears could conceivably lose him and go on as business as usual... If China Doll goes down, however, season over for the Lions..... and Peppers going against Backus is scary... Backus is awful. There are five o-linemen on the Badgers better than Backus. Double team... triple team... do whatever you have to do... but don't act like it's not a concern.... It's a huge one
Sho Nuff 720 Posted October 4, 2011 they should make the playoffs given where they're at now. that is the raised expectations. so i guess if they don't, you can gloat about their "inevitable demise." but if they do, you'll be wrong. as usual. oh, i forgot: you haven't made any predictions--other than the open-ended "demise" which you can tag onto whatever negative thing happens (you pick, of course--a loss to the bears, a 2-game losing streak, an interception by stafford, etc. etc. etc.). blah blah blah blah....the old swamp is definitely back...this is great. Ready for a monster season -- 1400/14 TDs Yeah... the old swamp is back... Captain Goomy Noomy Roo 50 Posted October 4, 2011 I''m a long-suffering, life-long Lions fan. This team is nice, talent all over the place. Able to overcome some really bad play to make some miraculous comebacks. But I agree with a previous poster: Lions fans need to act like they have been there before, even though we haven't been in a long while. Show some class. Admit when this team gets lucky, like they did the last 2 games. Enjoy the wins but don't talk sh!t. That's childish. The Packers are the champs until someone unseats them. Hopefully it is the Lions. And don't forget that the season is going great because Stafford is healthy and playing great. That could all change with one hit, just like last year...... Stafford is good but he is not the only thing holding the Lions together. Don't forget half the scoring last week was Defense. I am not about to say that Detroit is better than GB at this point in time... I will say however that Detroit could survive the loss of Stafford far better than GB could survive the loss of Rodgers. I will enjoy the Lions run as far as it goes and I do believe that they have not played their best football yet.

See the difference is when Cutler goes down the Bears could very easily gain 15 yards because Suh can't play by the rules and often gets stupid penalties. On the other hand when Stafford goes down he tends to break............. With Lions letting up 4.8 yds per carry doesn't sound like stopping Forte is going to be easy. Monday Night Football October 10, 2011 Lions 27 , Chicago 17 Lions learn their lesson and don't allow the early lead. Stafford and and the Defense manage the lead and pull out W number 5. Bishop82 61 Posted October 4, 2011 I'm looking forward to this Monday, should be a great game. Bears 27 Lions 23 Stafford stays healthy, but ineffective. Best rushes for over 120 Lion's D gets only 2 sacks on Cutler Forte has another big game Knox hauls in 2 TDs But unlike the great "Axe Elf"...... I'm always wrong. Here is a tip...I made my prediction via Mr. T. Tip 2...it takes no balls to type something on a focking message bored. Debate the game...hilarious. Your debate skills are the fun part of it all. YOUNG TALENT!!! And you are really going out on a limb...taking the Bears two biggest strengths (Forte and Special teams) and saying if they stop that the Lions should win (though, with your usual bragging about it being a blowout not withstanding). Took a lot of balls to say that. Thats like saying that if Atlanta stops/limits Rodgers they will beat Green Bay.

Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted October 4, 2011 bump for sho and anyone else wanting to debate this game, the current lions, or the bears. Tough division battle. Detroit will come out pumped for MNF and the dome will probably be loud. But I don't think it's going to be a one sided game one way or the other. It hasn't been much of a rivalry lately but both games in 2010 were close. Had to go back to 2007 for the last time Detroit won. 2007 Lions 37 - Bears 27 Lions 16 - Bears 7 2008 Bears 34 - Lions 7 Bears 27 - Lions 23 2009 Bears 48 - Lions 24 Bears 37 - Lions 23 2010 Bears 19 - Lions 14 Bears 24 - Lions 20 Lions need to win this for the last 3 years of losses. Hope they aren't too confident going into it for their sakes. If so they could get beat down.

swamp dog 0 Posted October 5, 2011 well, using the "history" logic, i will point out that up to december 1 of last year, the lions had lost 24 road games in a row. they've now won 5 road games in a row. the past means nothing--especially 2007 data. illini9825 7 Posted October 9, 2011 It will be interesting to see what team shows up on Monday. Will it be the Bears that dominated the Falcons or the other band of pukes? Will it be first half or second half Lions? If the Lions spot the Bears a 20 point lead by halftime, there will be no comeback. From a matchup standpoint, it doesn't seem that the Bears will hold up. I fully expect the Lions to win but I'm never right about the Bears. This team is maddening!

The Hood 9 Posted October 10, 2011 Prediction: Lions are good. Bears are not. Lions win. Thanks for playing. Bears have lost to the Saints and Packers. I will admit they are not as good as those two. Of course those 2 are the class of the NFC and probably NFL. Lions killed the horrible Chiefs and have barely beat Tampa, Vikes and Dallas. Is any of that really even an accomplishment right now? I don't have a great feeling going into the game since the Lions 2 biggest strengths (D-Line and passing game) are matched up against the Bears biggest weaknesses. But the Lions O-line may be just as bad and if Peppers gets early pressure they could pull in the reins on that high flying passing game. If it gets to a running and field position game the Bears will win. Forte or Hester will break one and Best sucks. But more than likely Stafford gets enough time, Megatron keeps dominating and Cutler spends the day under heavy pressure getting hit and Bears lose by 2-3 scores. Its true the Lions crushed a pathetic Cheif team, however the other 3 wins were road kills. Everyone who is a fan of the NFL knows how difficult it is to win on the road in this leauge. I beleive the hype of the home crowd and the first MNF appearance in a decade will be to much for the Bears to deal with. The Lions are rolling right now. If the Bears can withstand the early crowd noise and put some nice plays together it could get interesting.

That's great that you are 4-0 but I can remember another time when you were, as SwampDog most famously said, "6-2=6-2=6-2" and then we never saw any of you again for some reason That being said, I'm expecting a great game tonight and at least 25 points from Jahvid Best
