Frozenbeernuts 2,264 Posted September 29, 2011 Im sure there are plenty of people wondering what fosters trade value is whether its trading him away or trading for him. In 4 days i offered hightower and tolbert for him which was rejected. The next day he was traded for mcahee. The day after he was traded for beanie. And the following day he was packaged with wallace for calvin and helu to my team. If you are wondering what specific value he has in a trade, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The varying value shows how different people are viewing him. If you really want him though i would think he can be had for a decent rb2. If you are deep at that position i would definately pull the trigger. Since my team was all rb2 and rb3 hightower, tolbert, felix, greene, tate, I wanted the potential big time rb. KSB2424 3,148 Posted September 29, 2011 The owners that drafted him are not budging. I get it, they want to see what happens. The issues are that Ben Tate's loooked decent and hammy issues tend to linger. In my league I offered Romo/Gore to a guy in desperate need of a QB (he has Grossman and Orton) who also owns Foster. He didn't even counter offer.
We Tigers 71 Posted September 29, 2011 The time to trade for him was before the season, or immediately after week 2. You can't expect to get a potential superstar cheap after the other owner has sat on him through several DNPs. There's no advantage to that owner's team, as he's absorbed all the risk and gets none of the payoff. If week 4 is week 2 all over again, then your window's open again. I'd say if week 5 is week 2 all over again, then your window opens again. I'm an Arian Foster owner, and I've been long awaiting his return to the starting lineup. But even if he's named the starter for week 4, and receives 75% of the carries, he's playing the Steelers defense. I can only speak for myself, but I'm more concerned with how many snaps he plays this week and next than how much success he has running the football. We Tigers 71 Posted September 29, 2011 Fair enough, but the Steelers defense isn't that great anymore. You're right, though; I'm looking for workload and health more than anything else.
SameSongNDance 0 Posted September 29, 2011 I wouldn't touch him. I'd rather target someone healthy like CJ. There's too much risked involved with injured players. Especially when it's a chronic injury like a hammy pull. I still can't believe he's suiting up this week. I really hope HOU isn't retarded enough to play him if he's less than 100%. I really wonder though..
josepaz2 1 Posted September 29, 2011 Not sure if I should trade for him or not. Thinking about offering Hillis + L.Fitzgerald to get Foster + M.Wallace Sound fair? The foster owner is hurting at RB so he could use someone that he can start now. Only problem is my RB's are currently ADP/Hillis/Helu/Hardesty so if Foster is a bust, I'm sh!t out of luck. Turf Nazi 0 Posted September 29, 2011 I have been offered Vincent Jackson and C. Benson for him. I would probably jump at the offer, but I am concerned about Benson's pending suspension.
skinsrule05 30 Posted September 29, 2011 I have been offered Vincent Jackson and C. Benson for him. I would probably jump at the offer, but I am concerned about Benson's pending suspension. If you only had Foster I think that is a great deal. Benson may miss a couple games but he will be right back at it. Foster could have problems all year. Look at what has happened. He pulled his hamstring, took two weeks off, came back and got hurt. So he took another two weeks off, came back and got hurt. Now he is trying to come back after two weeks again. If you have Foster and Tate I wouldn't do the trade. I don't think there will be a RBBC. So then you would have the starting RB on a dynamic team no matter what. MDC 7,423 Posted September 29, 2011 I'm a Foster and Tate owner who's 2-1, and at this point I've resigned myself to riding it out unless I thought I could get a top receiver or QB for him. Nobody is offering that kind of deal so having waited this long I'll probably just sit tight. I'd package him with my WR 2 (Dez) for a WR 1 but who's going to make that deal? Nothing I've been offered is worth the possibility he at some point comes back big or the chance that Tate starts for large stretches and produces at a high clip. I am pretty set at most positions except RB, so unless I get bowled over with a deal or suffer a critical injury there's no urgency. I'd say Foster's fair value is almost impossible to assess right now so unless his owner in your league is panicky or in real trouble he's mostly untradeable. monkeypicks 0 Posted September 30, 2011 I traded Foster+ Tate+ Caddy for Cam Newton + Benson + Brandon Marshall. Basically, 1 starter for 3 starters. This was last week. My team sucks a little less now but that didn't get me a win last week

In this case, I can conceivably keep Tate in my starting lineup while Benson is on suspension, which he has hired good lawyers to fight.
CAL_BEAR 0 Posted September 30, 2011 I offered the J. Charles Owner: Foster/Tate/B. Lloyd FOR Megatron. (His next best RB is Sproles/His WR's are D.Jax,E.Doucet,Floyd,T.Young,J.Jones) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DENIED!!

I really wonder though.. Definitely not CJ. I have a question though.... Is there anyone who IS 100% at this point? I mean a quick scan of the injury report and I'm seeing guys I wasn't even worried about missing practice and battling injuries. (Mathews, Daniel Thomas, AP, Megatron) And if not injured now.... I'm worried about injury history and heavy workload (stafford, turner, forte, ray rice, MJD) . And then guys that are young, in prime of career with little injury history all of a sudden done for the year (Britt, Charles). I mean it's a violent game... whats a guy to do? A look at my top 30 preseason rankings below: Over 75% are injured or have serious injury concerns. Top 30 Foster (injured) Peterson (concern over calf) Rice (healthy) Charles (injured) A. Johnson (concern over knee) Chris Johnson (healthy) McCoy (concern about injury) Calvin Johnson (concern over ankle) Roddy White (concern over thigh) McFadden (concern over shoulder and past injury history) Gore (injured a ankle) MJD (several injury concerns) Fitzerald (healthy) Rodgers (healthy) Vick (injured) Jennings (healthy) Mendenhall (healthy) Forte (healthy) Nicks (concern over knee) S. Jackson (injured) Austin (injured) Mike Wallace (concern over ribs) Hillis (sick) Steve Johnson (concern over injury) Colston (injured) Dez Bryant (injured) Gates (injured) Britt (injured)

We Tigers 71 Posted September 30, 2011 Data point: I was offered Finley, Colston, and Dalton for Foster, Roethlisberger, and Antonio Brown in a keep-3 league. After I turned that down, he came back with Finley straight up for Foster, which I also rejected. Earlier this week, I was offered Dez Bryant straight up in the same league. So: people still want him cheap. Too late for that.
The Football Guru 222 Posted October 1, 2011 Trade that just got accepted tonight (not processed yet though)... Benson, Jacobs, Fred Davis FOR Foster, Berrian and Folk Please don't try to convince me this is good (or fair) deal. Foster owner waits until he gets healthy and then deals him to the CJ2K owner for Benson (who is likely to start serving a suspension any week now) Jacobs (who is on the wrong end of a committee attack) and Davis (in his own committee with Chris Cooley) in a PPR league. The Foster owner goes on the messageboard in Week 1 complaining that Foster isn't healthy but deals him once he is and doesn't get squat in return. Heck, I would have traded him Felix w/o thinking twice if I knew he was going to accept this kind of trade. I might add that Davis - the one player that is actually of some value to his potential new owner - isn't really even a guaranteed starter on his new team. I guess if your in a league that doesn't count points for touchdowns. MJD had 5 TD's at this point in 2009. He has 1 this year.
