ian Potter 9 Posted September 16, 2013 Regardless of whether you think he should have been dropped he became available. Not sure how, why, or for what reason. The Bree's owner with no backup passed on him. I didn't need him with Vick and Romo. Vick more than likely won' last but I'm thinking I probably should have held onto the waiver in hindsight. C what happens. Thanks for input.
GreenTD 56 Posted September 16, 2013 I wish the RGIII owner would drop him in the league I own Russell Wilson. C'mon bye week stupidity!
Serpent 51 Posted September 22, 2013 I wish the RGIII owner would drop him in the league I own Russell Wilson. C'mon bye week stupidity! RG3 probably shouldn't be rostered anymore. The guy can't pass, can't run, and is a turnover machine. QB is too deep to waste a slot on someone like him. He's a useless backup and if you rely on him as your starter you will lose a lot of games. He won't do anything until at least midseason.

Serpent 51 Posted September 3, 2014 Certainly one should think twice about starting him. But dropping him altogether? That's just silly I was looking for those old McFadden threads where people hype him up, but can't find anything that goes earlier than Sept 2013, and I think those threads were before that. So I will just ask, do you still think it was silly for people to drop RG3 last year?
Ray_T 798 Posted September 3, 2014 Some ding bat dropped RG3 for RIVERS!!!!! I'm #2. I own Romo and Vick. I m tempted to pass. thinking in upcoming weeks there might be a substantial person to claim that could really help my team. Thoughts? Vick is inferior to RG3 even if he plays. Romo is good, but is getting old and starting to get hurt and miss games (as sometimes happens when QB's get older) I think you need RG3 and you should grab him.

We Tigers 71 Posted September 3, 2014 It's always unwise to drop a player you drafted highly early in the season. Waste of an asset. Sometimes it turns out well--if you ditched Randy Moss early in his Pats/Vikings/Titans year, for example--but usually it's just an overreaction. The upside is that you pick up someone else on waivers who's likely replacement-level at best; the downside is that you've dealt your team a totally unnecessary blow from the jump. So I will just ask, do you still think it was silly for people to drop RG3 last year? Wow dude, you remembered to bring this up a year later? Still would've been silly to drop him last year since he was likely better than most waiver wire QBs, but yeah, obviously he had a poor year. Good for you And giving up on your top players after a couple of weeks is pretty stupid, unless you can get a decent deal on a trade. You spent a high draft on 'em, might as well see if they can turn things around

Serpent 51 Posted September 4, 2014 you make no sense Well to try and explain what happened, basically I was talking to a friend that was drafting his team and I mentioned McFadden. And we laughed about how he'd always keep busting and ruining people, but this year he goes so late that he could blow up. I remember threads last year I believe where people insisted McFadden was a top 5 back when healthy and would put up tons of stats to "prove" it and tell everyone how stupid they were for not believing in McFadden. Well obviously McFadden stunk last year, so these people were wrong. And since I was thinking about him I thought it'd be fun to find that thread or those threads, and find the people that insisted on that and see if their names are familiar and if they're making more predictions this year. Or if they just disappeared in shame. But when I searched, I couldn't find any posts before Sept 2013, so either I searched incorrectly or we just don't have that stuff or something. So that RG3 thread was pretty much the earliest thread I could find and so I just bumped it up for fun. Now I am hoping someone can bump the DMC thread so we can all look at how dumb it is to think something is certain in the NFL, especially when it comes to shoddy RBs. I hope that explains it a bit, if you even care haha.
ian Potter 9 Posted September 4, 2014 Two scenarios aren't even close IMO. You had a proven injury risk verses a guy who played one season( played it well) was touted as one a guy w a ton of upside, and was sent packing after a couple weeks after spending a high draft pick on him. It's not like they took him in a late rd. Nor did I make any claim or projection on him. I didn't draft him last yr Bc of his injury. I was simply debating whether or not I should waste a claim on him when I felt I didn't need to and could potentially pick up someone who could have benefited me more down the line. I found it shocking the guy have up so quickly on him. Turned out to be the right choice. However, a very high % of the fantasy community would have thought the guy was nuts for doing so.
