bigmark3333 11 Posted October 10, 2013 Tough season for Wilson. Despite the fact that I kept him instead of Cruz (for essentially the same price), I don't have hate for him the way a lot of people seem to do. He has sucked this year, but you can tell his heart is in it and a lot of the blame shouldn't fall on him. The Giants o-line and team in general have just been a complete mess. That being said, he has looked OK the past few games- just not getting enough carries to really get it going. I thought last week was the week where he'd bust out and really show what all the hype was about, but it wasn't to be. As for the injury, I'm torn on what to do with him. I don't want to flat out drop him before the check-up next week, but I've got a pretty bad feeling this won't end well in terms of his prospects for this season. Brown is out on my waivers and I'm seriously considering swapping the two before news breaks that Wilson is officially done for the year so that I don't get beat to the punch. Tough to cut a guy I invested a lot in this year though, especially if he does come back and somehow lives up to half his potential. I really wish I didn't already have Vereen already taking up my IR spot..
RaiderHaters Revenge 4,348 Posted October 10, 2013 bigmark, the way alot of us see it is as follows Best case scenario, he returns week 10 after the bye, maybe not even at all, Andre Brown also returns after the bye. hes not worth the headache, at best when he returns hes nothing but a 2 down back, Brown should get the GL and most of the passing downs, which will be alot. I am not gonna deal with it anymore, I need the roster spot
kmccon02 1 Posted October 10, 2013 I need to stop buying into hype like this. Last year I drafted D. Murray and had essentially the same result. I just pulled the trigger on cutting WIlson. Feels good
BingoBrown 8 Posted October 11, 2013 I agree. I don't think you wait a week for the second opinion unless something is seriously wrong. I think he's done for the season. Nailed it. David Wilson told reporters Friday doctors fear he suffers from spinal stenosis, and may miss the season's remainder. He's got bigger problems than the rest of this year, if the initial diagnosis is true. Wilson will get a second opinion on his neck/spine Monday. Spinal stenosis has been known to shorten NFL careers, like that of former Redskins LT Chris Samuels. The 32nd overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, Wilson has rushed 115 times for 504 yards (4.4 YPC) and five touchdowns through two NFL seasons. He led the NFL in kickoff return yardage as a rookie last year. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7448/david-wilson
Skinny_Bastard 157 Posted October 11, 2013 Ya..he's done for the season. Andre Brown could be one heck of a stash when he gets back in week 10.
IGotWorms 4,058 Posted October 11, 2013 Tom Coughlin saying that he isn't aware that Wilson could be out for the year and is under the impression he could be back in 3-4 weeks. Seems unlikely to me.
crackills 19 Posted October 12, 2013 honestly.. with Jacobs playing surprisingly decent.. and Giants still being a bad team overall with no o line and bad D .. none of the giant RBs are worth a roster spot (Jacobs short term)unless you're in 14+teamer. Week 10 will be a full 2-3 way RBBC... roster spot can be better used for other players w potential. Let others in your league have the weekly headache. jgcrawfish 232 Posted October 12, 2013 Jacobs didn't play all that great, the Bears are missing nearly every starting defensive lineman they have. That WILL NOT happen every week, it was a fluke. Jacobs is fools gold, Scott is crap and Brown is the back to own long term.
