jerryskids 6,596 Posted October 29, 2013 Wow, bummer man. I presume your "options" are the multiple assets to sell? How long before you need to start selling stuff?

NorthernVike 2,083 Posted October 29, 2013 Not that I recomend it but...Do you have any retirement accounts you can raid? Sure you'll lose 10% penalty and have to pay tax on it, but it's got to be better than selling your stuff for pennies on the dollar.

Business is the slowest it's ever been and we may have to shut her down. I've handled three claims in the past two months. We lost two of our biggest companies. One was bought out from a Texas firm and the other is making their employees work harder and not give us their extras. Damn shame. Been in business for 29 years. The whole industry is hurting. I have some art that I was holding onto and would hate to have to sell it but might have to if things stay the same going into next year. I've got options but never thought I'd have them so soon. We'll see. My pregnant hookers aren't making much either. Who knew that was a bad investment. .I'm not touching the retirement account. .

Sorry to hear man.I know the feeling too as my business just lost another account and this time it was a major hit to the tune of $2000 per month. We've actually got a potential buyer of the business(for a helluva lot less than I'd like) and will know something by next week,if it goes thru we'll be okay for a bit as we'll be able to pay off our building and land but may have to turn around and put it up for sale. IGotWorms 4,057 Posted October 30, 2013 That's a bummer dude. Any chance you can catch on somewhere else? 29 years of experience has to be valuable
BunnysBastatrds 2,325 Posted October 30, 2013 That's a bummer dude. Any chance you can catch on somewhere else? 29 years of experience has to be valuable I've got twenty years of actual experience. The market for adjusters is bad her post Katrina. Most of the older guys are taking all the indecent jobs left vacant and they are working for nothing. I can work in my industry but it will have to be away from home and I will have to follow storms around the country. Didn't want to go that route this early in life but I may have to. I'm flood certified through FEMA and that's my best option. It'll work out. Just sad to see what I had go after all these years.
Recliner Pilot 61 Posted October 30, 2013 Flood certified? If that MMGW ever kicks in you can make a fortune in NYC when it floods.
