Mike FF Today 609 Posted March 18, 2014 Ankle ligaments need to be tightened. Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will undergo ankle surgery Wednesday, the team confirmed Tuesday. According to the team, the recovery will take up to four months, which coincides with the start of training camp. What ever receivers are in the mix, they will have to wait for training camp to get some reps with their QB. Hopefully Cam can recover quickly...
lesjroza 70 Posted March 18, 2014 I've always been a little bit low on Cam relative to his FF production so I never ended up with him in any leagues but last year during the little bit of football I was able to watch I thought he had improved in some of my areas of concern. The throws seemed a bit more on target and his body language and attitude seemed better. I was a bit torn between the idea he may have developed and the idea it was just that the Panthers were winning so in 2013 there were few struggles to test him. Cam will be on my do not draft list this year for sure with all that has happened but it will be a great test to see if he has developed in the area of leaderership. Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted March 19, 2014 I may change my mind about letting smiff go. Why did they let smith and ginn leave if non of their new wrs are going to work with cam until training camp? They had to know this surgery was a possibility.
Boilermaker04 11 Posted March 19, 2014 Could this offseason news drop him far enough that he becomes a value play? Odd twist of fate but it will be interesting to see where he goes, may end up too good to pass up.... how much lower can he possibly get? CAR seems intent on figuring that out. They had to know this surgery was a possibility. Yeah, you'd think the GM would have planned for that ... or they could have had this looked at earlier and had his surgey done then? Is it possible they are trying to tank this year and setup for next year, with all the salary cap issues they have?

Voltaire 4,567 Posted March 24, 2014 There goes Cam's value, bad enough he has no wrs. He'll build chemistry throwing balls from his wheelchair to the WRs they fished out of the dumpster behind Taco Bell.
