snatchit 108 Posted December 24, 2014 I won the championship, I think my luck came after going WR, WR getting Foster in the 3rd. Drafting Sanders in like the 6th or 7th round and Steve Smith in the 10th ( which was great the 1st half of the year in flex) I never had to look for WR's all year off the WW .. It was all about grabbing RB's. Romo was solid too. Gonna do the same thing next year and hope I hit again in the 3rd for my 1st stud RB ... Catch you guys next year

snatchit 108 Posted December 24, 2014 Thanks man, very stoked... It's very hard to win it all as you all know.
tigeru 65 Posted December 24, 2014 The mocking was that you had Rice who has yet to play. McFadden Moreno Stewart Bradshaw. You had Sanders Green and Bryant in a 12 team ppr. As though everyone else skipped the top receivers for low end rb too. Plus a week later you declared you'd never return to this site again.
TheUsualSuspect 207 Posted December 24, 2014 Congrats on the Belt, as you hit gold on guys like Sanders and Romo... But your success had nothing to do with your ridiculous drafting strategy.

Glad you won it, Snatch.....Congrats. It is always very satisfying & rewarding. I did too, but understand (as you do too, I think) that lady luck greatly supplemented my perceived skill. murf74 461 Posted December 24, 2014 What was the draft strategy that was mocked
tigeru 65 Posted December 24, 2014 If you look at the post he made about this in August nobody mocked it. It's in A Little Help! or I'd bump it up here.
GreenTD 56 Posted December 24, 2014 What was the draft strategy that was mocked Yeah, I don't think the draft strategy was necessarily mocked but rather the multiple topics started regarding the same subject.
snatchit 108 Posted December 24, 2014 Rice had a 2 game suspension when I drafted, Bradshaw was a great number 2 till he got hurt then I picked up Herron, DMAC was a 10th round pick. When you have a bunch of RB's you change them out along the way because in the course of the year RB's come out of no where. More so than WR's. I didn't get lucky with Sanders, of course he was going to be at least a number # 3 to go along with Dez and AJG. Just glad I didn't put stock in Martin and Stacy.... I am sure that killed a lot of teams. Romo is steady year after year.

I just think if you draft in the back half you have to go WR, WR then take your shot on a bunch of RB's and hope 2 pop
TimHauck 1,806 Posted December 24, 2014 This was the original thread I believe: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=435843&hl= Your original roster: Romo, Tannihell Foster, CJ1, Rice, Moreno, DMAC, J.Stew, A.Bradshaw, Helu Dez, AJ Green, E. Saunders, S.Smith Vernon Davis Pats. --- LOL at your most recent comment of "hope 2 pop" because that's pretty much what I and a couple others said in the original thread and you were getting all defensive and started claiming that at least 4 of them or something would be good. But really, Foster was the only one of those that was actually good for most of the season. Bradshaw was good in the first half before he got hurt. Stewart's been good for the past couple weeks but even if he's on your roster now he was probably a FA at some point. The rest of them were either injured, garbage, or both (or of course suspended in Rice's case). So yeah, if you were able to snag some of the out of nowhere guys like Forsett or Anderson then you were probably in good shape, but your success wasn't because you had 8 RB's on your roster. It was because you made 3 really good picks - Foster, Dez and Sanders. But congrats on winning your league. Much better than I can say.

TimHauck 1,806 Posted December 24, 2014 true... I just think if you draft in the back half you have to go WR, WR then take your shot on a bunch of RB's and hope 2 pop As is always said, the success of whatever "strategy" use just depends on the players you choose. I went WR-WR in my main league with 2 pretty safe bets of Calvin and Marshall and that didn't work out too well.
snatchit 108 Posted December 24, 2014 I hear you guys, I did luck out... But there was a lot more Stacy's and Martins of the world than there was Marshall's... It's been that way the last few years
