Voltaire 4,560 Posted December 30, 2014 I learned that from you. Yeah, he was ready to go last year but the Bills gave him good money. A great signing for both sides. I'm glad for him that he was able to go out like that -as the starter on a winning team, not a long time, forgotten back up- it's a much better exit.
tigeru 65 Posted December 30, 2014 Just tied Cutler in career winning % Sunday although both are still behind Grossman.
DankNuggs 305 Posted December 30, 2014 Orton had a pretty underrated career... Guy was a very capable middle tier starting QB. Good for him to walk away in one piece and focus on his family.
JT 137 Posted December 31, 2014 Well that worked out GREAT for Buffalo.
Skinny_Bastard 154 Posted December 31, 2014 He played the system well. Screwed Cowboys and now the Bills. Anyone would be surprise if he ends up in Cleveland as the starting qb?
cyclone24 1,814 Posted December 31, 2014 Again Orton is the only guy I have any form of inside info on.......I wouldn't be completely shocked if Chicago called he wouldn't go back. Still has a really nice home in the Chicago area, played there.....long shot, but I wouldn't be completely surprised. But nice career, and pretty quietly so. msudavedawg 5 Posted December 31, 2014 He could see the writing on the wall. His days of having the greatest neckbeard in the NFL were over.http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CAcQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Furl%3Fsa%3Di%26rct%3Dj%26q%3D%26esrc%3Ds%26source%3Dimages%26cd%3D%26cad%3Drja%26uact%3D8%26ved%3D0CAcQjRw%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.cbssports.com%252Fnfl%252Feye-on-football%252F24408068%252Fandrew-luck-shaves-his-beard-the-world-questions-its-existence%26ei%3DcQqkVJfXJNGtyASip4KgAw%26bvm%3Dbv.82001339%2Cd.aWw%26psig%3DAFQjCNHlRHBNFtlxOa5uO7PYkutdD6HlkQ%26ust%3D1420123101310877&ei=cQqkVJfXJNGtyASip4KgAw&bvm=bv.82001339,d.aWw&psig=AFQjCNHlRHBNFtlxOa5uO7PYkutdD6HlkQ&ust=1420123101310877
TennisMenace 156 Posted December 31, 2014 He's retiring to be with family?????? Is he planning on being Mr. Mom or something? Why can't he see his kids during NFL season? Plus, he is off for a long time now, isn't this enough of family time? It must be nice to walk away from a 5.5 million dollar a year job.
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted January 3, 2015 Imagine if he played for the Cards
tigeru 65 Posted January 3, 2015 Maybe he's driving around in a Pinto instead of the higher priced vehicles and has saved money over the years that $5.5 million isn't as big of a loss or the headaches
Donkey 34 Posted January 4, 2015 Reminds me of Jake Plummer retiring in a similar situation.
Quickolas1 80 Posted January 4, 2015 Still a brick ton of money, but it's prolly half of $5.5 mil after Fed & state taxes.
Skinny_Bastard 154 Posted January 4, 2015 He's a smart dude. Retire. Wait for the mid season injury phone call to come. Then sign a nice fat contract for 6-8 weeks with no stress of preseason, etc.
tigeru 65 Posted January 4, 2015 I hope Cutlers that injury. A whole season injury free he loses 10 games himself.
TheUsualSuspect 207 Posted January 4, 2015 How was he underrated? He accomplished nothing in professional football.
JT 137 Posted January 4, 2015 How was he underrated? He accomplished nothing in professional football. Other than playing the Bills for fools. Wasted their entire season by playing him.
