Who will Norman shadow this weekend?

Recommended Posts

He is not a slot CB so I can see the Panthers bracketing Cobb with the slot CB and LBs and safeties. So, who will Norman spend most of the time on, Adams or Jones?

Jones has hurt opponents more with TDs but only sees a few targets per game. Adams is faster and more athletic, so he would seemingly see the most of Norman?

Thoughts? I own both and need to play one of these turds...

As of right now i am starting adams over Jmatth, Hilton, and Diggs. For all these receivers that i have i thought their schedules wouldnt be that bad (Cooks included). It has turned into a nightmare each week almost. There are a lot of shut down corners all of a sudden it seems. Diggs is the only player i probably consider over Adams out of those i mentioned.

Gotta start Diggs here Frozenbeernuts, he's a WR2, Davante is a WR4. To OP, yeah Cobb is relatively safe from Norman (who doesn't shadow like Revis, even on the outside it should be said) and, I'd guess, will spend most of his time on Davante Adams in zone then switch to James Jones' side near the goal-line, which is what he did to Moncrief who's obviously a good red zone td threat. Play Jones over Adams, CAR is 1st, 4th, and 7th against #1, #2, and #3 WRs respectively.

Its a tough call. I am nervous about that Rams defense.

I'm a homer and I think he shadows Cobb, be damned where he lines up.

Norman has lined up in the slot in 2% of his snaps this season. Cobb has lined up in the slot on 91% of his snaps this season.

I'm just telling what I'm hearing via Panther beat writers on Twitter. Who truly knows but Normam has hinted to reporters about facing Cobb. It may be just gamesmanship but just sayin' :dunno:

Maybe that stat is because Allen Ribinson, Deandre Hopkins, Mike Evans, TY Hilton, etc (teams Carolina had faced so far) all line up outside 90% of the time.

Apparently Norman was traded to Indy today according to rototurd..

"Emmanuel Sanders (shoulder) is probable for Week 9."

The Broncos limited Sanders in practice, but his status was never a concern. With Demaryius Thomas drawing Josh Norman, Sanders is a top-10 play this week.

Nov 6 - 7:05 PM

Man they get worse each passing day..

Cobb will still have an uphill battle if/when he doesn't face Norman, because the Panthers play great team defense.

Where do you see Norman was traded?

He's making a joke because Roto accidentally put Norman in the Indy/Den game.

I have to start 3 of Cobb, JMatt, Diggs, Hillman or Lacy. I have to start at least one RB amongst them. Not sure what is the right combination.

"...Other times, Norman plays half the field, and teams simply decide to ignore him. During a two-week stretch against the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles, Norman saw a grand total of one pass thrown his way past the line of scrimmage -- and he rejected it.

Randall Cobb, however, is a slightly different case since the Green Bay Packers do such a good job of moving him around. Newton doesn't think Norman will shadow him everywhere he goes. And Packers reporter Rob Demovsky pointed to a game last year in which the New England Patriots put Darrelle Revis on Cobb.

"At the beginning, Cobb had a lot of trouble getting open, but then Mike McCarthy started moving him around more, even putting him in the backfield. Out of that formation, Cobb caught a 33-yard pass," Demovsky said. "He ended up with seven catches for 85 yards in the game. Not huge, but not terrible either.

Cobb had a quiet week against the Denver Broncos' stifling defense last week. But Demovsky wrote in this week's NFL Nation Insider Trading column that Cobb has expressed his determination to bounce back -- something he did after a slow start last year."
