TBayXXXVII 2,545 Posted August 8, 2016 Goes to show how great he is. 3800 31 8 and people are on suicide watch. That's like his rock bottom floor. Yeah, Rodgers finished 7th last year. Boy, that must have stunk!
TBayXXXVII 2,545 Posted August 8, 2016 Yeah and all the Rodgers owners were on suicide watch all season. So Winston owners are signing up for that? The guy in my money league with Rodgers missed the playoffs. The Jordy effect was real. That's completely irrelevant. What was the rest of the guys team? The guy in my money league made the playoffs with Rodgers. I won my money league and I had Winston. QB's don't win you leagues... RB's and WR's do. In my money league, here was the QB ownership breakdown... #1 - Cam Newton (owner had the worst record in the leauge) #2 - Tom Brady (owner had the most points, lost in playoffs - guy also had Beckham, Hopkins, and Peterson) #3 - Russell Wilson (owner missed the playoffs) #4 - Blake Bortles (same owner who owned Wilson) #5 - Carson Palmer (knocked out in first round of playoffs... by me) #6 - Drew Brees (same owner who owned Brady) #7 - Aaron Rodgers (knocked out in first round of playoffs) . . . . #13 Jameis Winston (owned by me... I won the championship) While I think Winston finished top 5, I can assure you that I won't be upset if he finishes #7 like Rodgers did last year.
TBayXXXVII 2,545 Posted August 8, 2016 We've got a Tampa homer plugging Winston and a bunch of guys jumping all over him. JW might run a little more this year as suggested and might improve his stats enough to bump into the top 10 for fantasy purposes ..... The goal is Cam Newton lite... Entirely possible. I thought Mariota was the better qb out of this draft and still do, but time will tell. As did I. I wasn't really thrilled with the pick (I actually wanted the Bucs to trade down and take neither because I didn't want Lovie Smith being apart of either QB), but after watching the 2016 season, I can't see any evidence that points to Mariota being better in the future. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they both can't be good, I'm just saying that I don't think Mariota will be better. To me, it's like the 2004 draft. Both Manning and Rivers are good... but Rivers is clearly a better QB.

The guy has had some pretty talented teams around him and hasn't done shlt with them but be perennially one of the biggest disappointments in the league. His team won Super Bowls that he was the QB on he didn't win, the team carried him. Also,Eli had a better coach than Rivers did. But Rivers is a better QB. Better completion pct, rating, td/int ratio, y/a. The only thing Eli has better than Rivers is the counting stats (yards and TD's), because he has 20+ more starts because Rivers sat behind Brees for 2 seasons. They are the engine. In other leagues QB may not win you a title but they can certainly cost you one.

Define "QB friendly"? A big money league that I'm in that is considered "QB friendly" had Carson Palmer and Ryan Tannehill as their 2 QB's. In that league, Palmer finished 6th. The guy who was 2nd, had Brady... who finished 3rd. I finished in 3rd place and had Phillip Rivers (13th and Winston 14th). The guy who had Newton (#1), finished 6th and the guy who had Bortles (#2), finished 7th.
tanatastic 2,062 Posted August 9, 2016 Winston, youngest qb to ever throw for 4k..also youngest to throw for 3k. Preach passing league all you want, but there is upside here.
