Would you support the Feds requiring photo I.D. for all General Elections?

“If you are talking about California, the state is apparently relying on the illegal alien to tell the state they shouldn’t be registered. There is still an honor system,” said von Spakovsky, co-author of the book “Who's Counting? How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote at Risk.”

The problem with California is there is no separate verification of citizenship on voter registration, said Charles Bell, Jr., a partner with California-based Bell, McAndrews & Hiltachk, LLP, a law firm that specializes in election law. Applicants can check a box affirming they are citizens, and this is not checked against any other government database such as federal immigration records.

“We have an honor system, which is effective for people who are honorable, but is also an opportunity for people who are not honorable,” Bell said. “There is a gap in the system, and we don’t have administrative folks who will be aggressive about looking into that.”

One concern, said Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies for the Washington D.C.-based Center for Immigration Studies, is that California issues driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, allowing them to automatically be registered to vote under the federal “motor-voter” laws. Since the AB60 law went into effect in 2015, 806,000 illegal immigrants have received a license.

So tell me again why there's no concern?

I have a concern...Fox has been repeating the same things for mutliple years...despite being wrong (and then you whine about CNN and Fake News and cite this).

I know...you don't like snopes.

When people go to the DMV to obtain or renew a driver's license, or to get a state identification card, they’ll be asked for the usual information in such transactions, such as their name, date of birth and address. They’ll also be asked to affirm their eligibility to vote and will be given the choice of opting out of registering at that time. Information about anyone who does not decline registration will be electronically transmitted from the DMV to the secretary of state’s office, where citizenship will be verified and names will be added to the voter rolls.

You should stop talking about CNN so much and quit reading sources that have been proven worse.

I see the same rigged system where Democrats want to make it easier to keep power by automatically applying to register those who claim they are citizens. Do I think trust they're vetting those applications any better than refugees? Nope. Why would the Democratic Powers that be try to block thousands of votes that overwhelmingly vote for them?

So...now your claim is the Sec. of State there is lying...and your sources are right despite being proven wrong mutliple times when Fox has made the accusation.

You are really doubling down on stupid...about as good as claiming its leftover Obama staffers leaking things.

They only require a name, DOB and address to get an I.D. then ask them are you eligible to vote then investigate later. Solid plan....

With zero evidence that illegals are just registered or eligible to vote.

You keep trying...its ok to just walk away rather than coming back...would have been better for you.

In 2012 it was estimated that 180,000 illegals were registered to vote in,Florida alone, many as a result of a similiar Motor voter deal that California is spooling up. Then when trying to get access to immigration status, the left cried foul that the Republicans were trying to take away people's right to vote. The Democrats stick with what works.

You keep defending it sunshine. It's ridiculous to think it's not a problem or that the system isn't set up to be rigged. I'm guessing that you're afraid of a fair game.

Like all good conspiracy theory nuts.

JFC.....California just enacted pretty much the same system that allowed Florida to be exploited. Where's Bob Ross? I'll see if he can paint you a picture.

Damn...didn't even need research...did you even read and finish your article?

You and these fools think 180,000 people are registered to vote but illegal? When since 2010 they have had to have proof of citizenship to get a license.

You take an estimate by Republicans as gospel...

But to be thorough...one quick search...and...

Ooops...looks like that number was wittled down to 200 after the figured out they focked up...and Scott abandoned the purge of roles.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-florida-politics-idUSBREA2Q2DH20140327

Florida officials at the time said they had drawn up an initial list of 182,000 potential non-citizens. But that number was reduced to fewer than 200 after election officials acknowledged errors on the original list.

Ion Sancho, a veteran Leon County elections supervisor, said he welcomed the state's decision.

"The number of ineligible individuals on Florida databases is statistically insignificant," he said. "The last thing supervisors need is another partisan-driven event to complicate our lives. The entire process has been driven by partisan politics, rather than voter integrity."

As I said...smacked down twice...which state next?

I was wrong on the Florida deal. See how that works? It's okay to admit you're wrong. Feel free to jump back in that CNN thread and do likewise.

As far as California goes; that system is set up to be exploited. Even John Podesta (you remember him, right? One of the gruesome twosome pedophiles you vehemently defended) admitted that all you need is a driver's license, attest you're a citizen and you should be able to vote in national elections. Another gem from the Wikileaks.........

Glad you admit you were wrong...you still can't about Cali...but oh well.

I did not defend pedophilia...you still keep getting that fact way wrong.

Do you discount that Podesta admitted that all you need is a driver's license? If not, Cali's issuance of driver's licenses are a big issue.

You're right. And so am I.

I am just so GD sick of stupid.

And it didn't start with Trump Or end with him either. I remember when we used to be great. When we were The Shining beacon on the hill. Rather than the God damn laughingstock that we are today. It breaks my heart. And it pisses me off.

Too many good lives Lost too much To stoke the Flames of that light on the hill And now Even a single life only needs a Twitter accountTo irrevocably dim that light.

I remember when we used to be great, When we used to be Fearless, When brilliance was a virtue And ignorance was a vice. Most of all I remember when we were courageous Even if- especially in, our failings, When we were gracious In our defeat,And not a cautionary Tale In what The worst of us could become.

People attack what they fear. America is not a laughing stock but rather a nation feared as it's the most powerful and has the greatest economy.
