Would you support the Feds requiring photo I.D. for all General Elections?

The problem of voter fraud is the one that is statistically insignificant.

Keeping people from voting is not. Even it is a small margin...voting is a right and making it harder for some is a non-starter.

Spend whatever it takes? Why? Because you feel there is so much fraud (despite the statistics that say otherwise)? Not a very conservative view point there.

Man, I'm just tired of the same schtick being used. Voter fraud is insignificant statiscally? And how do we know that? Because the states where you don't have to prove who you to vote say so?

If we don't verify who the voters are, how would we know the true numbers on voter fraud? This shouldn't be based on the honor system.

Same crew that went to the wall over freaks and bathrooms. They do what they're told, never stray from the mantra. No matter how stupid they are made to look.

Though...here is the question. It has to be free...including transportation to a place to obtain one (part of the issue is where to get ID and the hours).

But...free is free to them...how much do we spend on trying to solve a problem that is statistically insignificant?

You were NOT talking about voter fraud there. You were talking about IDs and their cost.

A. Because voter fraud is not a significant issue in this country.

B. An ID will not likely stop the occurrences of fraud that have been reported.

The right (meaning lawmakers) don't give a crap about voter fraud. They care about doing what they can to make sure their side has an advantage based on the numbers. In this case...the numbers show that groups that typically vote democrat would be less likely to have an ID...therefore, they are for strict voter ID laws (and others that would restrict hours and so on like in NC). Democrats are no better...they know there numbers are hurt by such laws and oppose it for that reason. If the statistics were reversed...the party's opinions on the laws would be as well.

Voter fraud is insignificant, but people without id's are all over the place. Moron

this is from 2008.

If you can't afford that, you shouldn't vote. Focking christ.

If voting is that important to you, you find a way to save 5 bucks a year for 6 years

Even poor people waste 20, 30 bucks on sh1t.

stop making excuses and acting like ID's cost $300

and I'm not even registered to vote!!!

Please don't confuse me with being one of those people who believe it's a poll tax. I'm just telling you why those are people against it.

Because study after study has shown it to be statistically insignificant. Its not schtick...its called the research of the issue that has been done time and time again.

I was talking about the "problem" being voter fraud. IDs are supposed to solve that problem.

Does anyone think minorities just roll into a bank to get money out and they're given a pass on having a photo ID?

To stop voter fraud.

Why is only one side AGAINST proving who you are to cast a vote?

That argument is so focking stupid you have me rethinking my position on late term abortions being okay until....... how old are you?

But there is no voter fraud. That's fake news invented by the right to push their agenda of making harder for less fortunate people to vote. At some point, you're going to understand. That was the fourth time I explained it.

No, because it's bullshit they make up to keep the minority vote without having to actually service it. If they convince the minority vote that the other side is racist then they have them. It's much harder to actually do something to improve their lot, which they haven't. It's a cheap, easy way to get votes. They did the same thing with unions and working people. But that ran out when a lot of those people woke up. Blacks are next and then the hard left democrat will be almost out of business.

I don't feel strongly about it either way. Most states have some ID requirement. As long as they're not changing the rules in an election year I'm cool with it.

That said I think it's pretty obviously just a hurdle to make it harder for lower class people to vote. Of all the ways to commit voter fraud showing up to the polls to impersonate one person, essentially risking jail time for a single vote, seems like just about the dumbest way to do it.

I'll quote your reply to RPs foolish rant.

My thoughts in this thread are based on years of statistics...facts about who has historically not had an ID in this country. Not some fake experiences he claims to have had with people...or your bs claim of bigotry.

Don't really give a flip. The people voted and there was a landslide victory despite this so called popular vote. Yea real popular, typically blue states going red. Is there corruption in politics? Does the pope wear a funny hat? Of,course there is. But the election was legit and Russia had nothing to do with it.

Because you say so, right? Or maybe the pollsters told ya so?? or CNN?? It's all a conspiracy to you and your ilk believing that Republicans are only for this to diminish the number of poor people who likely vote democrat.

Pssst. He lost by three million votes. He won according to the rules, which is fine. But let's not go around acting like he won in a landslide when three more million people voted for his opponent.

Russia having an effect on the election sounds like high level conspiracy theory kookery. Also it was a landslide in the electoral college...the thing that actually decides the results. Saying it's not a landslide is like saying a team that wins 31-10 didn't destroy the other team because the other team had more net yards gained.

My claim of bigotry was directed at liberalism, which you clearly don't subscribe to, so it had nothing to do with you.

As for my claim being bs, did you watch the video I posted?

Also, it doesn't matter who has "historically not had an I.D. in this country". The fact is, it isn't terribly difficult to obtain one in this day and age.
