RLLD 3,455 Posted November 19, 2019 Quote The defence ministers of South Korea and China have agreed to develop their security ties to ensure stability in north-east Asia, the latest indication that Washington’s long-standing alliances in the region are fraying. fandandy 3,311 Posted November 19, 2019 I don't understand why we spend our money defending them to begin with. The article mentions South Korea and Japan, the eleventh and third-largest economies in the world. They can afford to defend themselves, plus we are 21 Trillion dollars in debt. Maybe the age of America projecting her power globally needs to come to an end.

Maybe the age of America projecting her power globally needs to come to an end. Our foreign policy has been vacillating between aggressive and passive versions for decades now. 1. With Vietnam, LBJ sent in troops. People complained. 2. In response, when it came to the contras, Reagan sold arms to the groups we favored instead of sending in troops. People complained. 3. In response, Bush sent in troops to Kuwait. Then Clinton sent in troops to Bosnia. People complained. 4. In response, Clinton fired cruise missiles at Iraq instead of sending in troops. People complained. 5. In response, Bush jr invaded Iraq. People Complained. 6. In response, Obama launched a billion cruise missiles at Libya instead of sending in troops. People complained. 7. In response, we elect Trump and he neither fires cruise missiles NOR invades anyone and tries diplomacy and tariffs. People complained.

Best foreign policy President in the lifetime of people my age. Cleaned up Vietnam. Was vilified and persecuted. Synopsis of all of this: Americans really don't care about the military or foreign policy. It's a tool for politicians to create mistrust.

We’ve got 60,000 troops in the Middle East right now and drone strikes are up over Obungler’s years.
