Yeah...tough guys usually spend large portions of their life relying on drugs to get by.

Of course some of the stupid people here would think Peterson was smart. Good to know so many people here think drug addiction is an honorable trait.

It’s not  if you fall down, It’s if you get up. I feel sorry for your students who battle substance abuse or live with someone who does. Please refer them to someone with a more understanding outlook. You are obviously not the person to handle those matters.

I'm plenty sincere to a 16 or 17 year old kid who makes some bad decisions. I'm plenty sincere to students who are wrestling with issues of sexuality (you know the ones you rail against.) And I am always sympathetic and empathetic to the plights of my students and to a person they know that. 

I'm not sincere to a 60 year old grifter calling people soft and preaching self reliance when they haven't lived what they're preaching. But yes- you and utilit99 are the dumbest posters on this board so of course you think Peterson is some grand thinker.

When have I railed against kids having issues over their sexuality? I never did that. Why lie? And don’t act like you council kids on that issue at some great rate. Drug abuse, for the student and those around them is a much more prevalent issue, and you have shown your true thoughts on the. issue. If a kid comes to you and says their father is a drug addict make sure to tell them just what you said about Peterson.

I, and others, have seen your posts- we see the garbage you've spewed.

In your scenario, is the dad a grifter trying to sell people BS while not following their own advice? I mean- you have to be a complete dummy to see how what I said in specific about Peterson is not analogous at all to the scenario you are posting.

I guess a video of a guy telling people not to drink and drive and then finding out he got a dui would be negative in your eyes

two things can be true. Everything Peterson says is true. Regardless of whether he was addicted to pain killers or not his is advice is still valid.

Are you a mental health professional too? No, then you can stop with the counseling and make the referral and teach the subject you are qualified to teach.  Leave the other stuff to the professionals and parents.

I actually am trained in mental health issues. So I will continue my work with counseling AND I will continue teaching the subject I am qualified to teach on top of it. Are you trained in classroom, curriculum, or educational issues? Leave that stuff to professionals.

Crisis training isn’t counseling training nor does it make you qualified or licensed to offer counseling. And besides, you’re not there to counsel. You’re there to teach a subject.  Stick to it. Send them to the guidance COUNSELOR and stay out of it.

Point is- if you are going to be calling people soft, criticizing people on sexuality issues, and preaching self reliance.....In the end- maybe a former drug addict isn't the best person to turn to for advice. You know someone who took an easy path, had their own psychological demons to battle, and were not self reliant for a large portion of their life.

And then on top of that the person is a grifter making money off of doing these things

I am guidance counselor certified. And you outright said guidance counselors are qualified to handle this...ipso facto- I am able to handle this issue with students.

In addition to my teaching I also do guidance counselor work in the school. I have a split morning/afternoon schedule. 

And this has nothing to do with sex lives stuff...you were talking about drug issues which you said "let the guidance counselors handle it"....I do...
