Yep her verbiage is just yelling this is not my daddy or this is not my mommy help help.

As opposed to her mother who is always being asked who her daddy is.

It's the same logic used by the covid idiots that caused us to be locked up for 2 years, scared they were going to catch the sniffles.  Adults scared their kid is gonna get abducted, makes them sit in their room all day, when it is extremely rare.

There’s no in between? Great logic Gutterstooge

I mean we live in a nicer part of town so there’s not a lot of trouble over here. I’m probably more worried her crossing the street that I am being at the pool and something happening.

She one time met some friends over there and the other time didn’t see anybody she knew and just swam around/ slides, etc. I’m not terribly worried about the pedophile thing. There’s a lot of kids and people running around.

i’m trying to give her a little bit of a leash of responsibility and I’ve talk to her about building that trust with me that I know she’s where she’s at and she’ll be on time coming home so later on we don’t have this battle where she’s sneaking around.

What did your wife say?

So you can literally see the place from the end of your driveway?  I don’t think I’d let her go by herself and would probably at least walk to the end of the driveway to make sure she got there, but other than that may be OK with it.

I was 12 years old when I was allowed to go swimming alone. I grew up in the 80’s.

Were you just alone in a public place away from your family? Or were you with friends?

When I grew up, I was out in the streets alone without my parents around but I was always with a bunch of kids on the block.

Just got back from myrtle beach.  Lifeguard was cool and we got to talking.  College kid..good smarts.  He says he has way more lost kids than water rescues.

Kids get in the water and current takes them down the beach...they come out and dont recognize anyone.  Then they for some reason walk the wrong way as they dont like facing the wind lol.  Parents will come up to him...I cant find my kid...we last saw them about 20 minutes ago.  He says the biggest problem is bad parents.

Usually they call the next lifeguard down and find the kid.

Hell I saw some old guy almost need rescued.  Tripped in the surf and had a helluva time getting up...I was on my feet walking towards him but he managed to get up and get out of the surf.
