nobody 2,673 Posted February 22, 2024 One reason I'm not a fan of student loan forgiveness is I think college prices are too high. If the student loan forgiveness came with some sort of cap on tuition I'd be more open to it. The government spent the 80s and 90s telling people they need to get a college degree and costs have inflated to beyond ridiculous levels.
nobody 2,673 Posted February 22, 2024 Or better yet... Give student loan forgiveness and then end student loans forever. Make it illegal to take out a loan for college.

The idiot who signed up for it and took loans out to pay for it should be on the hook for paying off the loan. If we're going to start letting stoopid people off the hook for doing stoopid sh!t, we're going to have a lot more stoopidity in this country. I'm not letting stupid people off the hook, I'm assigning the word "stupid" to the right place. If the school is going to offer a program that requires a $30k annual student loan, knowing that the degree isn't worth that, then they shouldn't offer the program at that cost. If they are, they're the problem for "price gouging". Let's be honest here... the only reason that "DEI" exists, is because colleges were offering programs that cost $30k per year for a careers that don't exist. There's no future for a gender studies degree. There's no future for a African American studies degree. There's no future for a Women's studies degree. It's not a coincidence that those are the 3 major components of DEI.
Mark Davis 398 Posted February 22, 2024 These are the type things that motivate me, it's disgusting. Rewarding those who won't do for themselves is the opposite of what we should be encouraging as a society. I feel for everyone who has worked diligently to repay their loans and chose their schools with the ability to do that in mind.

The Democrat party prey's on victim's. If they can't find any, they create them. People majoring in something stupid with no future is foolish, but what's more foolish is the cost of that program. Are Democrat's addressing any of those issues? No, because in one case you have to blame your side (we all know colleges and universities, by and large, are liberal indoctrination centers), and that certainly can't happen. The other is an opportunity to pander to a group of potential voters. Obviously, they're going to call the stupid people victims and champion a cause for them, knowing that it can't be done. When it can't get done, they blame Republican's. Idiots on the left soak that crap up all the time.

Those idiots wanted a piece of paper they were told would make them more valuable to perspective employers. They then chose the easiest major they could find in order to get that piece of paper. They didn't bother to look at the price tag or research career opportunities for someone with that degree. Fock em. The world needs college educated ditch diggers too.
