Don't know the recipe they are using, but I found this and may have to try it the next couple days while watching the NCAA tournament.

I’m embarrassed to say I’ve drafted him before. It might have been 2 years ago or more, but I had that bent shaft mother putter on me team once.

My ex-father in law recently turned me on to the AVX and it is amazing. It always goes straight and it flies like a line drive to the gap.  I’m sold, but I did order a dozen Bridgestone BRX to try out this week and hoping I like them because I do like to switch up.  
 

My problem is I have 2 dozen prov1x and 3 dozen prov1 that I no longer want. Any of you guys know if Golf Galaxy does trades? They are still in the boxes, unopened.

FB Marketplace?  idk. Forget which thread it was in but I know i mentioned that I pretty much don't buy new golf balls anymore. Even on a bad day with a few OB shots, something in the water etc I always seem to find a bunch more premium balls, usually in excellent condition. I just play those and only break out new ones for outings or tournaments. 

interestingly, I recently cracked 2 brand new TP5 balls at my indoor place. I think they were from the same box so maybe I got a bad batch. I also use new balls there just in case any sort of marks mess with trackman.

Picked up a dozen left dash and a dozen Tour B RX to try this weekend. I don’t know why it’s taken me this long to discover these low spin off the driver balls. I guess I didn’t think they would stick to greens, but I was very impressed with the AVX stopping power last week.

I was once posed with the question- if you take your scramble group buddies and play a pga tour event, do you think you could make the cut?  My answer was no. We don’t have the distance to keep up and green speeds would kill us. 
 

I thought of a similar what if.  Your scramble group in an LPGA major? Yes, I think we would win.

Very interesting. I feel like I want to force myself to say no just because it sounds ridiculous to say yes. My regular scramble group would be a clear cut no as I often play with 2 guys who can't break 100 on their own but they still contribute a few useable shots. If I had my 3 BEST partners from all the various outings I play in? It might be possible to make the cut as I don't think distance would be a tremendous issue. Last weeks winner, Brian Campbell averages like 277 off the tee. Between myself and 3 other guys who drive it as long or longer than me, taking our best drive each hole I think we would average over 280. Putting difficulty would be somewhat mitigated by scramble strategy, watching the first putt for break and speed and once you are in pocket, freedom to be aggressive. The John Deere cut was -5. My bad scramble groups shoot -8. I think the best guys together would shoot -14. Move us back to the tips, and add PGA green speeds and I think we might be able to hover around that -4/-5 cut line. 

I actually don't think we would win an LPGA major.  womens US Open winner was -7. Some of them averaged over 270 off the tee for the event. I'm not sure the distance difference is much of an advantage because in either scenario the short game and putting is going to be the most important and professional women have some phenomenal short games.

Are hot deal times dead on sites like golfnow and teeoff? I think they are one in the same... I have not had much time to play this season, which is a bummer, so when I do I've been opting for my local county course due to the 5 min drive.  But I was browsing for hot deal times at some of the other, nicer courses i like to play and the offerings are few and far between compared to previous seasons. 

Anyone use those sites frequently and having the same experience? Maybe it's just my area.

The only time I see hot deals popup are during the week. I don't think I've ever seen them on the weekend.

I usually look for friday afternoons or maybe a random tuesday or wednesday. It used to be pretty easy to snag a really good deal on a tee time with cart for 4-5 courses me and my buddies like. A few seasons ago when I was really playing a lot, those sites used to send you $10 credits all the time as a frequent booker. With the hot deal plus a credit I could often play early friday afternoon for $15 greens fee and cart at a course where that would be $120

I still subscribe to GolfNow for $100/year. You get Peacock free and a $50 gift card for TaylorMade. That gets me to break even, but when you throw in the on demand shows to stream? I consider it plus money. 
 

I know what you’re talking about with the $10 per month. What pisses me off is most courses have a conscience fee to book online which cancels your coupon. I use the site to see what tee times are available then call to book. 
 

Beat part of the on demand shows is all seasons of Big Break. I’ve went through and watched all of them. Watching the club technology as it progressed as the clothes. I can’t believe we all wore those baggy ass trousers 20 years ago.

I will see if I can find the email and post the exact wording, but I recently got an email from a local course saying they are now invoking dynamic pricing. Prices will fluctuate based on demand. Bums me out because I play mostly on weekends.
