Spermoff: shooting (squirrels and/or targets)

Recommended Posts

Wife and I went shooting with my daughter and her boyfriend this weekend.  I hadn't fired a weapon since I had a 12 gauge shotgun in high school.

G0ddamn was that a good time!  Her boyfriend has a few rifles and handguns.  He also had a couple from his uncle.

My favorite was definitely his uncle's VEPR-12.  Was absolutely badass.

My daughter's M&P 15 .22 caliber felt like a pellet gun in comparison, which makes it perfect for squirrels @Hawkeye21  😉

Btw my daughter said she didn't know how wife and I would react when she told us she bought one.  I told her I didn't give a sh1t and then asked her why didn't she get a girlie pink one.

I can definitely see how people can get into acquiring various firearms as a hobby.

My father-in-law has a tradition on the 4th of July where he would drive around the gravel roads looking for black birds and shooting them with a .22 or .17 rifle.  I'll never forget when he asked me to go with him the first time.  My wife and I have been going for about 5 years now.  Nothing more Murican and redneck than driving around the countryside shooting birds out of a truck with a cooler of beer in the back seat.

Sounds RACISS!!!!   Were you wearing your Klan hoods?

A .17?  I'm obviously not a gun guy so didn't realize there was a caliber that small.  The more you know. 🌈

My son went skeet shooting for the first time last week. Now he wants a shotgun.
He already collects knives.

Yeah they found this cool place out on Long Island - you get a golf car and drive between 13 different stations with different levels.

When I was a kid we rented the equipment and just found a place on the side of the road - LIE out in Suffolk county.

Yep.  My daughter's boyfriend has one from them.  I won't embarrass myself by incorrectly naming it, but it was definitely fun to shoot.

I took a couple identifying pics if you want me to message them to you.   Clearly stamped as an "PA—15".

.17 HMR is a popular varmint round. It's basically a necked down .22

Very accurate due to a flat trajectory.

I would consider that unsafe firearms practice.
