Wishing somebody's parents to have been caught up the Holocaust is a low blow. I think Gilbert Gottfried's interaction with Amy Heckerling's Holocaust-obsessed babysitter on the Howard Stern show was about the funniest thing ever broadcast, but those were all indirect hits and it helps that both he and Stern are Jewish themselves.

And regarding reparations, it would be fun if we had someone in here defending them but that's not Tim, who has consistently found them to be a bad idea. I haven't seen any of them defend the concept. I'm crossing my fingers that the people he voted for knuckle under to shame/guilt pressure and make him reach for his wallet anyway because watching California liberals regularly bash their country and their forbearers, it seems to me that they should put their money where their mouth is.

I am sympathetic to the arguments made by those in favor of reparations. In terms of pure justice, they are, IMO, correct. 
 

But it’s not workable. And even the attempt to discuss it creates more problems than it would ever solve. That’s why I am opposed.
