Frankly, I think the internet is a curse to a large part of society that is not capable to handle it at this time in history. And it is currently our biggest obstacle we have in this country.

Wow, we have agreement. Cheers.

I think the Jersey Dem running for Governor is willing to talk about why she didn’t walk at her graduation at the Naval Academy, her issue is with the federal government handing over private data / information over to a political campaign.

She can have issues all she wants but running for public office and wanting to represent people opens the book on your life as far as I'm concerned. People want to know who is representing them and what they truly stand for. Not what they say they stand for. If they don't like it, don't run for office.

If by "firing cells" you mean demolishing the last vestiges of guardrails and oversight over the executive branch, such as abolition of the CFPB, axing inspectors general, firing ethical compliance lawyers, gutting the SEC, stacking SCOTUS with justices friendly to the Unitary Executive Theory, or tearing down regulatory agencies that may have something to say about his blatant corruption, then I'd agree with you.

But that's not what you're saying. You are claiming that the Don is a crusading hero trying to drain the swamp for the benefit of all Americans. My response to that is incredulity at your delusion.

Good lord you are an effing retard

If you’re a constitutionalist, please note the control of immigration you describe is specifically reserved to Congress, not the President. Congress hasn’t authorized any of this.

What are you effing talking about???  Congress is empowed with establishing the rules and process for immigration.  The executive branch is in charge of enforcing the rules.  That is what is happening.

How about you dispute what I said with some facts, links, or actual thought?

You're so gullible and ignorant you don't even realize you're alienating people that might have some common ground with you. I pity you. What are you going to do when all of the Trump lies come crashing down and you actually have to come to grips with how badly you've been duped? You aren't equipped for it and the ongoing, ever-increasing derangement you exhibit is going to manifest itself in bad ways. Find a good mental health provider. Soon.

Congress has passed the INA & various reforms of it. That includes rules for asylum & procedures for applying for citizenship, green cards, work permits & other provisions. This has included allies who helped our troops & nation in Afghanistan, Iraq & the GWOT. The Trump2 administration is violating all that. What’s worse they are assaulting, arresting, detaining, & deporting even American citizens. Everything about this is a violation of congressional & constitutional order.

The saddest thing to me, aside from the brutality, is the disregard & disrespect for American promises, our nation’s word & assurances to people who believed in the American dream.

Total bullcrap.  Asylum seeking is a loophole in our immigration policy which was for extremely rare cases.  The Biden administration used that and simply turned every illegal immigrant into asylum seekers and opened the flood gate to tens of millions of immigrants who illegally entered during those four years.   Trump is trying to rectify that unlawfulness.  Fuk you and your disingenuius debating.  You know damn well what went on during the Biden years.  I am so sick of the total BS of the brainwashed TDS crowd.  And I don't even favor a lot of what is going on, but your characterization is so effing dishonest.

Pretty sure Biden had a higher number of removals than Trump1 did.

Asylum is written into the INA & Biden sought to have Congress - the constitutionally responsible body - rectify the law it passed.

I'm sure you have me on ignore by now, but regardless I will point out that you don't refute a single word SID says here. You just spout your own interpretations and opinions, and throw in some third grade level insults. I'm not sure how anyone interacts with you as politely as he does. You don't deserve it.

CNN’s chief has Washington talking about his private meeting at the White House—following which he urged the network to ease up on coverage of Trump’s East Room demolition, Status has learned.

>On Wednesday, as Donald Trump tore down the East Wing to build his ballroom, the White Househad a visitor who raised eyebrows across Washington. CNN chief Mark Thompson made a rare appearance at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., according to multiple people familiar with the matter.

The meeting was ostensibly about introducing to the administration the network’s new direct-to-consumer streaming product launching next week, laying the groundwork for officials to appear on CNN, a person familiar with the matter told Status. But given the swirl of speculation surrounding the cable network, with parent company Warner Bros. Discovery having publicly put itself up for auction, the question of Donald Trump’s animosity toward CNN, and how that might manifest itself in the process, is very much on people’s minds.

… Still, staffers were taken aback the next morning, when Thompson suggested during the daily network editorial call that it should ease up on covering Trump’s East Wing demolition, claiming that their viewership isn’t all that interested in the story, according to two people familiar with the matter. The comment struck many as bizarre coming from Thompson, who despite carrying the editor in chief title generally tends not to wade too much into the minutiae of the network’s editorial process. “There is zero truth to this conjecture,” a CNN spokesperson told Status in a statement after this story was published.
The guidance suggested Thompson was trying to soften CNN’s coverage of Trump on an issue the administration has sought to keep out
of public view as polls show most Americans disapprove of the action. Whether or not the East Wing project was among the topics of conversation during Thompson’s White House meeting, the timing felt suspicious, with staffers wondering what coverage might be discouraged next. A network spokesperson declined to comment on the subject matter of the visit. …<<

So tell me, what actual policies are being unraveled by Trump?

Reagan: 1. Built security partnerships in NATO/Rurope, the Americas & Asia. 2. Championed democracy & individual rights. 3. Boosted & strengthened the global financial order with the US & the Dollar at its center. 4. An open economy based on consumer buying power & free trade.

Does Reagan live in these times with the same liberal lunatics spreading hatred all over the Internet?

And as far as the rest of the world,  different problems often times require different solutions in different times. ;)

2 more federal prosecutors being purged, tgis time for describing the January 6th attack as a ‘mob’ and ‘rioters’ in a brief.

>>…The two prosecutors, Carlos Valdivia and Samuel White, were locked out of their government devices and informed Wednesday morning they will be placed on leave, just hours after they filed a sentencing memorandum in the case of Taylor Taranto, the sources said.

Taranto was pardoned by President Donald Trump over his involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol but faced a separate conviction for firearms and threat charges related to a June 2023 arrest near the home of former President Barack Obama where he was found in possession of two guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, as well as a machete.

A day before Taranto's arrest, he claimed he would use a car bomb to drive into the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

In their sentencing memorandum, Valdivia and White used only two sentences to detail Taranto's involvement in the Jan. 6 attack.

On January 6, 2021, thousands of people comprising a mob of rioters attacked the U.S. Capitol while a joint session of Congress met to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election," the memorandum said. "Taranto was accused of participating in the riot in Washington, D.C., by entering the U.S. Capitol Building. After the riot, Taranto returned to his home in the State of Washington, where he promoted conspiracy theories about the events of January 6, 2021." ..<<

The DOJ has indicted a Democratic Congressional candidate for protesting.

>>

Federal prosecutors in Chicago drew swift criticism Wednesday with the unsealing of a grand jury indictment that charges six people, including congressional candidate and social media influencer Kat Abughazaleh, with conspiring to impede a federal officer in Broadview.

The charges stem from a protest Sept. 26 outside the western suburb’s U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. Video of the incident shows Abughazaleh and several others crowding and pushing against a black SUV, slowing its approach toward the facility.

But the case also raises constitutional concerns, targeting Democrats who have opposed the Trump administration deportation campaign known as “Operation Midway Blitz.” The defendants each face a conspiracy charge carrying a maximum prison sentence of six years.

Charged with Abughazaleh, 26, are Catherine Sharp, 29, who is running for a Cook County Board seat and serves as chief of staff to Ald. Andre Vasquez (40th)Brian Straw, 38, an Oak Park trustee; and Michael Rabbitt, 62, a 45th Ward Democratic committeeperson. Also charged are Andre Martin, 27, and Joselyn Walsh, 31.<<

>> Figueroa was on her way to get coffee before heading to work when she encountered a chaotic scene in West Town: heavily armed, masked federal agents making arrests on a residential street.

People yelled as vehicles honked their horn — a sign now used to alert neighbors that immigration federal agents are in the area — and witnesses said federal agents had arrested several landscaper workers presumed to be in the country without authorization.

As Figueroa tried to drive through the 1600 block of West Hubbard Street on Friday, Oct. 10, an unmarked vehicle driven by federal agents collided with Figueroa’s as it tried to speed away from a hostile crowd, multiple videos reviewed by the Tribune show.

Seconds after the crash, agents abruptly stopped their vehicle and exited with weapons in hand pointing at Figueroa, a U.S citizen. Agents then forcibly opened her door and pulled her out of the vehicle by her legs without identifying themselves, presenting a warrant or informing her that she was under arrest. As bystanders yelled, “You hit her! We have it on video!” agents ignored the crowd and forced Figueroa into a red minivan and drove away.

Her car was left behind in the middle of the road, her coffee still in the cup holder, and her keys in plain view.

The Department of Homeland Security later released a statement claiming that Figueroa was at fault, saying “she crashed into an unmarked government vehicle and violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers.”

Figueroa was released the same day a few hours later without charges.

According to Figueroa, after getting arrested, she was transported to multiple undisclosed locations, and repeatedly denied contact with family or legal counsel.

“I was in shock and terrified. The video evidence is clear: Agents crashed into me. I was not involved in any protest or related activity, and I intend to seek justice for how I was treated,” Figueroa told the Tribune.

… For hours, her family couldn’t locate her. Only after coming across a video online did they realize that Figueroa had been taken by masked federal agents through video circulating the web. They were able to ping her through her iPhone location at the ICE processing center in Broadview.

Her mother said she was shocked and “desperately worried.” Figueroa had kidney surgery in August, and the way agents pulled her out of the vehicle and threw her on the ground “deeply concerned me,” her mother, Teresita Figueroa, told the Tribune.

But what stunned Teresita Figueroa the most was that despite her daughter being a U.S. citizen, the family couldn’t locate her. She said no authorities, including the Chicago police, were able to give them clarity on why her daughter was arrested.

Teresita Figueroa said her daughter is a loving mother of a 5-year-old boy and an aspiring lawyer working as a paralegal. Her record shows nothing more than a few minor traffic violations, the Tribune found. Her family started a fundraiser to cover medical and legal expenses.

… Teresita Figueroa said she picked up her daughter from an ambulance in a parking lot in Lombard, a suburb west of Chicago. Her daughter was  “very injured, in shock, and bleeding from her surgery,” she said. They had to rush Dayanne Figueroa to a nearby hospital to get checked. …<<

Video of incident.  I’m sure righties here will agree she was “resisting arrest,” but is it still considered resisting arrest if they don’t have a valid reason to arrest you?  Although I suppose they might be able to use the “she’s Hispanic, so we had reason to believe she was illegal” claim.
