Beggars And How Do You Respond To Them

Recommended Posts

So this begged was camped out in front of the Racetrack where I buy gas and beer. Asks me if I can buy him two hotdamn single shots. Me: Sorry man, I’ve gotten in trouble for that.  I go in the store and look over my left shoulder and there’s a variety of other shivs like the ones you get on an airplane and a service bar in a hotel. I got to thinking, and asked myself what you do if you needed it? I’m an alkie.  I bought my brews and a half pint of hot damn. Only cost four bucks. I came out and said, “Hey brother, happy birthday” Then I went home and got drunk on a fifteenth pack of Bud Ic. Slept good. He said,  God bless you brother. Hope I don’t end up there and i truly believe in karma.

Do yous believe in karma?

I don't think supporting the drinking habits of a homeless alcoholic falls under the Karma scale, but glad it works for you.

I ignore beggars, but I'll always drop a buck into a guitar case or bucket for someone performing or putting forth some effort.

MDC begs for my attention. Sometimes I ignore, other times I give him a smack.

As do most of us. I don’t give money to those at big intersections.I read a story about how much they make and how they dress and carry themselves to get more. There was a guy on an intersection near me who had a sign that read “I’ll kill your significant other for a dollar” Originality works. Gave him a fiver and a golf clap.

I once witnessed country music star John Rich focking with a homeless guy in NYC. The homeless guy went off and yours truly had to step in. Rich was wasted and running his mouth.  Part of me wouldn’t have blamed the homeless guy if he clocked him. I had no desire to be stuck with that mess.

I say no  to them if they ask for cash or booze, I will feed them. But one should never feed their bad habits.

I thought about stopping to see if the guy who has been begging at the top of the off ramp was dead or not. He had fallen face down flat not moving in an OD'd kind of way.  The thought fleeted.
