Mom & Pop Shops Closings

Recommended Posts

Trying to get tires off this local tire shop cause they are cheaper and do fast work, They don't answer their phone and Facebook page hasn't been updated over a year. They are still in business though. Got me thinking, more then some of these mom and pops shops going out of business is on them and laziness and lack of caring. Close when they want even when their hours say they should be open and etc. Thoughts ?

Finding those same issues with bigger named business, mostly they say it’s because of a lack of employment.  Can’t get people to work.  We have business closed down during the week days and closing during afternoon hours , even though they list themselves as open.

Mom and Pop are now Great Grandma and G-Pop.  Cut them some slack, they are in their late 110's and 120's.  That they are still servicing your horseless carriage is wonderful.  When those velocipedes first appeared they dedicated themselves to providing great replacement parts at reasonable prices and they are still doing so and have been since before Calvin Coolidge was President.

I'm noticing that in some of the chain restaurants that are owned privately.

You should get them to adopt that as their store name.  Tires In Two Days.  It has a nice ring to it.

Small shops are enjoying the same problem as bigger chains , good and reliable help.

I don’t know if it’s a big problem but I have noticed in recent years that smaller stores and restaurants have become much more comfortable with closing when they just feel like it. Yes sometimes when they’re supposed to be open but sometimes even they’re stated hours are stupid. Like a fast casual restaurant in the downtown core that just doesn’t do lunch most days. Wtf? You should be trying to soak up all the business you can.

This is exactly the point I'm trying to make and add they need to keep their websites and etc up to date.
