The guy just turned 33 last month. I'm not saying he can't play, but in order to re-work his deal to make it work, they'll have to add voidable years. Not worth it for someone who comes off their books after the season. So, trading him and saving $8M makes the most sense. Those 2 are $15M, so you only need to re-work Bosa and Allen to save another $10M. That shouldn't be too hard to do. That said, Mack is a FA after the season. If they still really like him, they could just give him a 3 or 4 year extension and just convert this years' cash ($18M), to bonus money. Davis is one of the better blocking WRs in the league (I know, not great for FF but real important for real football).
