This guy owns the GOP Amazing that you can't even read simple sentences in your own link. Quote Trump has already nominated Michael Whatley, chair of the North Carolina state Republican Party, to replace McDaniel. Trump has also selected his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, to be a co-chair. She has already become the public face of Trump's revamped RNC. Whatley will be the new chair. I did however come to post this from a different link: Quote Lara Trump Vows Largest-Ever Legal ‘Ballot Harvesting’ Operation If Elected RNC Co-chair NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.—Lara Trump says efforts of “historic” proportions are needed to ensure that Republicans, including her father-in-law, former President Donald Trump, win the Nov. 5 election. Ms. Trump says she is ready to take on that challenge if she becomes co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), as President Trump has recommended. In an exclusive interview with The Epoch Times before a Feb. 21 campaign stop, Ms. Trump declared: “We need to have the biggest legal ballot harvesting operation this country has ever seen.” Ballot harvesting, which is legal in many states, allows people to deliver other voters’ absentee or mail-in ballots to election officials. Some fear this practice facilitates election fraud. Republicans have long frowned upon it; Democrats have taken advantage of it. “Whether or not they [Democrats] do it legally, that’s up for discussion,” Ms. Trump said. In any case, Ms. Trump says it’s time for Republicans to start “attacking the game differently.” Ms. Trump’s remarks to The Epoch Times, and later, to supporters, provided new insights about her vision for a revamped and reinvigorated RNC. “It feels, for a long time, like the Democrats have been playing chess and we’ve been playing checkers,” she said. Her goal is for the Republican Party “to be the opposite, to be steps ahead of them, and on our toes, and ahead of the game, and facing forward the whole time.” Ms. Trump, the wife of President Trump’s son, Eric, also advocates two other efforts that she says would be unprecedented. Republicans need to be urged to vote early, not just on election day, as they typically have preferred, she said. She also wants to see the RNC’s program for training poll watchers expanded nationwide. https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/lara-trump-vows-largest-ever-legal-ballot-harvesting-operation-if-elected-rnc-co-chair-5592416 I'm not a bigly fan of ballot harvesting, but goodness knows the Dems do it, so if the Repubs are going to remain competitive, I guess that's a necessary evil.

Again, reading is your friend: Quote Chris LaCivita, a Trump campaign senior adviser who is also joining the newly revamped RNC, said the organization will not help Trump with legal bills that include lawyers' fees and massive civil judgments against him. "The primary is over, and it is the RNC’s sole responsibility to defeat Joe Biden and win back the White House," LaCivita said. Lara Trump has said that every penny from the RNC will be devoted to "winning" and that her father-in-law's election is the party's top priority.

Meh. God speed. Nice to see the RNC and, by extension Trump, finally tacitly admit to what we already know is true. They know damn well these practices are legal and secure. Either that or they have every intention of trying to cheat. My bet is on the latter.

It's an odd quote: she specifically said: Quote “That’s why people are furious right now. And they see the attacks against him. They feel like it’s an attack not just on Donald Trump but on this country,” she said. “So yeah I think that is a big interest to people, absolutely.” but she never said WHAT was a big interest to people; the AP filled in that part. and she went on to say: Quote “Having someone like me in there I think will go a long way for people. I can assure you that my loyalty is to my father-in-law and I will make sure that every penny is used properly,” she said. “It should be going to fight for Nov. 5 for the causes that we care about.” What does this mean? The two statements within the bolded seem potentially contradictory. Anyway, I do not like her being so closely involved in this. Seems a bit like a monarchy, and potential lack of checks and balances. I do like that McDaniel is out, and that they are going to use all legal methods to win. I don’t necessarily treat this place like I’m writing a dissertation so thanks for asking. There’s zero doubt in my mind they’d take that cash if it isn’t politically damaging. I think it’s insane to have this much influence resting with the Trump family but I don’t hold them in high regard I think it’s also terrible for the GOP. We invented that . True dat. It has been said that a democratic government can exist until the people realize they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. And yet, we haven't quite gotten there yet. Why not? There are always more have-nots than haves. Historically there were factors like concern about the welfare of the country, but that is dwindling in our hedonistic culture. There were also natural suppressive factors like land ownership -- one needed to have skin in the game to vote, for instance. We've done away with all of those, such that any loser who has no idea what is going on in his neighborhood or country can vote. All except one factor, a critical one. That factor is apathy. The same people who could vote in people with policies to give them more free stuff, often lack the impetus to actually take the effort to vote. Apathy keeps the scales somewhat even. This is why ballot harvesting concerns me -- IMO it messes with the natural order of things.
