Can we please keep this type of "pot" talk on the other forum. I'm super sensitive to this type of talk. Thanks!

It must have been a decent amount if both were booked. Even where weed is illegal they'll usually issue a citation to appear for personal use amounts.

They probably had a lot of weed in the car. May or may not be an issue down the road.

Considering you can buy an ounce legally about 15 minutes from where they are by crossing the river, it's not like they'd need a qp or anything of that nature.   But who knows.

As of now It doesn't seem like a big deal, especially if it's just a small amount of weed.

I wonder if it was Mahomes, if they would have looked the other way.

Can you imagine being the cop arresting Mahomes for weed?  He probably wouldn't work for the department much longer.

When I was taking criminal justice courses the dilemma always was if you would arrest or give a ticket to your own mother.   They didn't ask about my favorite nfl qb.

so does this mean the dude can be suspended by the NFL then?   or has the NFL done away with suspensions for smoking weed as its legal in half the country?

Andy Reid, the guy who raised 2 criminals, one  Is in jail and another who's taking a dirt nap right now.

With body cams these days, the cop is in the clear if something like this were to happen.  If he's seen on camera showing favoritism, he's focked.

These are grown men making bad decisions on their own time.  It's not their boss's fault nor responsibility to keep these guys from screwing up.

I couldnt agree more.

thats the equivalent of putting you in jail if your kid goes out and commits a crime.

in the end, we as people have to take responsibility for our own actions.  its called being an adult.    I know lots of pro sports people dont like doing it but it needs to be done.   Your money actually can bail you out of a lot of problems but it cannot fix everything.    This is the lesson here.

Yup.  The NFL and NFLPA even have a rookie symposium to go over things with these guys when they enter the league to discuss things like this.

what I find to be funny is that people need to be told this.... people should already know it but clearly it is a problem.  If it wasnt,  there would be no need for this.

Of course it’s not their bosses fault, just having a little fun.  Thanks.

I wouldn't arrest anyone for weed, so I would probably make a bad cop lol

Agree, except if it was deemed enough for trafficking or packaged to sell.

Personal use amounts, no problem. Stomp it out and send them on their way.

I don't care so much about selling it even. I would probably only want to arrest somebody if they were smuggling like the cartels or something.

The only reason they care about it in the first place,  "drug dealing = tax evasion"

But I guess that's a discussion for a different forum

The problem is that it's not regulated. They could be selling anything. I think that's where the problem lies.
