Giants HC Brian Daboll berates offense during ‘sloppy’ practice

There is nothing to see here now that Barkley is gone.  There’s been nothing to see here for a few years except Barkley.  Congratulations Giants on your continued commitment to excellence!

I love, love, love Nabers but what's the point without a QB? They set themselves back again.

Giants o/u win total ... 6.5

I'd take the over. Not much over, but over. Won 6 last year with a horribly injury plagued team and went 4-3 in the final seven as players returned. The Qb play will be better, the o-line healthy, Nabers shows off, and defense got some help with 2nd/3rd rounders in draft. Jones isn't the best (bad last year in first 5 full games)... some of which could be attributed to wrecked o-line, but better than what the Giants had last year. In '22 Jones led Giants to 9-7-1.

That’s a tough under/over win total, I think 6-7 wins is right on the money.

I agree, if anything I'd lay the under. They'll be lucky to win 1 game in the NFC East alone.

They didn't have any trouble beating the Iggles last season, and they are better this year. probably should worry about your own house, what with your schizophrenic coach and QB...

I'd also take the over.

giants biggest problem was the line and injuries.   I have to think the injury situation shouldnt get worse than what it was last year.  As last year was pretty close to as bad as it gets for a team.

but as someone else said,  while I am taking the over, I dont think they will be over by a lot.

Daniel Jones is having a generationally bad camp. He's over throwing, under throwing, bouncing passes, missing wide open targets, etc. He and Nabers are not on the same page. Nabers and Daboll are already showing frustration with Jones.

This experiment is winding down, they should of drafted a QB. Penix or McCarthy would of made sense for them.

This is a generationally bad take. DJ is having a fine camp. Not every throw is on point, but that is the same for every QB in every camp. You need new sources…

Fine? He's getting destroyed by every beat writer, ESPN, The NFL Network and every other person with 2 eyes. He looks like Dog Dirt.

Put your homer hat down for a second and be real.

Because I am homer I actually know what's going on in Giants Camp. Obviously, you don't. You just talk nonsense based on nothing. DJ, has been fine, not great but easily outplaying the other QB's in camp (Lock,Devito). You probably cherry picked the one or 2 practices where he wasn't great. His connection with Nabers has been mostly good. Several highlight bombs between them. Regardless, its camp, who cares. You really should worry about your own house, would be a shame if the Giants skunk the Iggles once again this year...

just a question,  does it look like the injury is still affecting him?  I figured at this point it might be

I’m not there but the beat writers who are have noted DJs footwork looks good. No noticeable limping or anything like that. Seems he is way ahead of schedule. But it’s camp, he’s not taking hits…

totally fair comment.  thanks for the insight.  footwork and ability to plant when he throws are 90% of what we wanna see at this point from Danny himself.   any word on how the line is looking?    Thats likely the larger factor.    I dont see Danny Dimes performing much better if hes behind a line that performed the way they did last year.  I know part was due to injuries, but Yech was it ever bad.   No surprise Danny got hurt.   he was getting hit enough that if it wasnt the knee he would have gotten hurt in some other way.  it was only a matter of time

And guess where they'll be when the season is over? Looking for a QB.

maybe.

if the line problem isnt solved I see no point in getting another QB.   you'll just ruin him if you put him behind a leaky line like that.    given the draft capital that needs to be spent to get a top QB in the draft I think that's a prudent way to conduct your business.

Danny actually performed okay the one year they gave him reasonable protection so I'm not 100% convinced the problem is with him.    it could be.   but like I said, the line was terrible.  There are not many QB out there good enough to make up for that.

to add to that comment, that may well be part of the reason the team didnt draft another QB   while I would have liked to see them take the best O lineman on the board its hard not to fill a skill position that early in the draft and that was also a position of need for the G men.

a burner at WR will change the way teams need to defend them somewhat.    But the line remains a concern for me.

but when your line is bad and your WR overall are subpar, thats a bad combination for a QB to have to deal with.    Thats why I'm not 100% sure its Danny's fault.   sure he has to accept some of the blame, but I'm not willing to place all of this on his shoulders.

Maybe so.   though I think the New York offense started actually looking like an offense when he took over.

granted the bar is quite low as the offense didnt look to be pro caliber the year prior.

He's a Meathead. He's done nothing to make that team better. They're worse than when he took over.

He may not make it through the season and Hard Knocks isn't doing him any favors. He looks and acts like a coach without a clue.

Think y’all are confusing Daboll with Nick Sirianni…
