As we know from the past things that were labeled misinformation or found to be true and thanks that were labeled or found to be false. people have to get off this "ministry of truth” kick. 1

PRIME example: Galileo. Dude was ostracized and imprisoned cause he spoke facts that the earth revolved around the sun. Just cause the majority thinks it’s misinformation doesn’t mean it actually is. I don’t EVER want ANYONE to be the judge on what’s classified as “misinformation” 1

easilyscan 859 Posted August 15, 2024 Paragraph #2 Wednesday's shutdown, which Meta announced earlier this year, has been protested by researchers and nonprofits. In May, dozens of groups, including the Center for Democracy and Technology, the Digital Forensic Research Lab at the Atlantic Council, Human Rights Watch and NYU’s Center for Social Media & Politics, sent a letter to the company asking that it keep the tool running through at least January so it would be available through the U.S. presidential elections. Everything we need to know in 2 sentences.

TheNewGirl 1,347 Posted August 16, 2024 Canada doesn't even let their citizens read articles on FB; they censor so much now. Not sure if that's better or worse than just letting people spread whatever they want. Take ALL of the info away? Or let people post whatever.

You can always choose to ignore content from certain sites/posters. I subscribed to one of my states most popular newspapers (online version) for 8 years. Enjoyed the comments every bit as much as the articles. The comments became so overly censored, I canceled my subscription.
