I still use mine.  So yes.   I ain't trying to change all my user names to my GMail address.

No idea if AOL address still works, but when I switched to Gmail I kept the same mix of letters / numbers as my original AOL one to ease the transition. 

I kept trying for variations of my name back in the AOL days but they were all taken.  Eventually accepted what they offered.
