Kelce vs. Likely: who's going to be better this year?

Recommended Posts

Until Likely is given the starting job, you have to go with Kelce.  But it’s going to be close if Likely continues to play wr slot.

Kelce but after week one its hard not to like Likely.  And since my fantasy team sucked week one I now have both and starting both at TE and flex.

I rewatched the game and I hate to say it, but I think Likely's production was a fluke.

He was on the bench a 3rd of the time and by my count he ran 30 routes (half of which came in the 4th quarter while they were in catchup mode) and he got 12 targets from those 30 routes.  I don't think that's a sustainable ratio of routes to targets.  Meanwhile, Andrews ran 36 routes and got 3 targets (counting 1 called back by penalty).

I also think they may have been trying to get Andrews some rest because he wasn't practicing after his car accident.

If week 1 is any indication of things to come, Likely will be the best TE this season.

That said, just one game. The writing is on the wall though...

I think this guy end up being what Kyle Pitts was supposed to be.

Wow, Kelce isn’t  worth much at all, might be the worst te pick ever.

Kelce or Likely, it's a crazy thought.. but, it's not totally out there, I get it. I had Likely after Andrews went out last season and he was a godsend to my team. Then he goes and kills it in game one.. But, he's not the starter and Andrews WILL take away his plays.  Honestly though, all the usual top TE haven't done much that I've seen. Kelce, Andrews, Laporta, etc... Even though I regret picking up Maholmes, it's only week 2 and Kelce, I think, will still be a decent start.
