Just appraised my house

Recommended Posts

Want to rebuild a deck and add a screened porch with a/v and maybe add some outdoor patio space with firepit. Looking into a line of credit to help pay for it all.

With the inflated housing market I have tons of equity.   Anybody up for a golf outing in bora bora?

You might consider a glassed in porch with some windows that open with screens.

i paid 20% deposit to an architect today and still unsure whether it'll be more screen or glassed in, but I asked her to show me photos of options she thinks would work for me to share with the wife.  I appreciate that feedback.

Also found a lifelong buddy willing to help me to help keep labor costs down, so that's cool.  We built decks and finished rooms in our parents houses since we've been 13/ 14.

I'm geeking out on electronics, because I'm trying to get a sense of what I want to help spec out for the architect.  In an adjacent room I have a tremendous theatre setup (it's a walkout basement), with 65" tv, 5-channel surround featuring 12" vega subs.

I think I still want high quality a/v outside because I don't want to feel like I want to have to go in and turn on the vegas to listen to music outside.  I'm envisioning a firepit outside of the screened in room, so I'm thinking adjustable wall mounts so I can point some 6 1/2" or something whichever direction I need, along with a subwoofer.  It doesn't have to match the inside in terms of quality but I want it to sound good.  I can easily find some mid-size outdoor speakers for main and surround sound that can also play music from bluetooth.

For the geeks my question would be do you think it's worth investing in an outdoor center channel speaker?  Or just roll with the 4 main speakers and a sub?  Or is it possible to run center channel straight from the TV?  After doing some reviews this brand of tv seems to popup as one of the best options for outdoor, as it will be left out in the extreme cold and heat all year.  Not sure what the sound options would be for it.

Adds nothing to the value of your home, nobody uses that space. Add a bathroom if you're looking for equity

I'm not worried about the increase in equity with the soundbar.  I'm asking opinions if anyone thinks it makes that big a difference on the sound experience to include a center channel or just roll with primarily main channel speakers.

:dunno:
