Rhamondre Stevenson

Recommended Posts

So news in New England is he won't be starting but will be involved. He has fumbled the ball in each of their first 4 games. Antonio Gibson will get the nod to start. They are playing Miami & both teams should lean on the run game....Stevenson is NE's best offensive weapon. Would you start him as a flex hoping it's no worse than 50/50 timeshare or play Chase Brown against a tough Ravens defense?

Stevenson.  I suspect Mayo is hoping the “benching” motivates him.  Not about career statistics for sure … Antonio Gibson has more of a fumbling issue in his career.

silver lining: the pats have done a poor job IMO using Rhamondre as a receiver.  Maybe this will help on that.

This is my hope, too.  We'll see how it plays out on Sunday, but maybe Stevenson can benefit with some touches (i.e. runs on third and long passing situations) like Gibson has.  Losing a "starting" job is sending a message, but keeping your best player off the field is not good coaching strategy (then, again, a lot of coaches have proven to be stubborn and/or not so bright).  I could be wrong, but I suspect it ends up being about a 50-50 split with Stevenson getting the goaline carries (unless, of course, he fumbles again).

For the OP, it's a tough call - Brown probably has a higher ceiling because that Pats-Fins game could end up being one of those 9-6 specials.  Due to injuries and bye weeks, I've got to start both Stevenson and Brown.  I'll probabaly just stick with them over waiver options like Gibson and Mattison.

I picked up Mattison off the wire as Taylor is out, playing him in Taylor's slot. Have a rb/wr flex spot to fill....options are Stevenson or Brown. I just can't se NE not having Stevenson a part of this game. Miami is going to have to run & if NE ever had a chance to win against them, it's this game. They need this win. It could be a 9-6 game, but if Stevenson can get 40 yds & a tuddy.....that's 10 points......i only got 9.2 out of Bijan. Thank the lucky stars Hurts had a bye & I was forced to start Cousins.....51.45pts😎

With Consins' monster game, it makes sense to play for a safer floor.  I just don't aee a lot of upside with Mattison or Stevenson when they are likely playing in lower scoring games.  That's why I see Brown as a higher ceiling play as he could be transitioning to the 1A role over Moss - the risk is that last week was a blip and he goes back to a change-of-pace 4-6 touches.

Miami is allowing 120 rushing yds per game, Denver is allowing 110 yds per game. Baltimore is allowing only 58. In a split backfield the numbers don't look good for Brown this week.
