It's such a big reason why this country has so many problems, people would rather cling to being wrong, than accept new facts and information and learn something. Me, if I'm wrong, I'll say so, how is it bad to say that you learned something.

The inability to admit being wrong seems to have rubbed off on most of his ardent followers to the point where it's a beta move to even consider being wrong. This used to be something that only married women engaged in.

Yeah check out the boxing thread where someone posted what has been described as an "alleged report" which has yet to be corroborated by a medical board of any kind and used that to try and dunk on people who said "Well if it is true that a doctor was less than forthcoming about information as one article mentioned" they should have their medical license revoked." It was also rightly pointed out that had nothing come out the people who were yelling about this in August would not be in the thread admitting they were wrong. Strike 5,186 Posted November 5, 2024 2 hours ago, TimHauck said: And per usual, @Strike disappears when he realizes he is wrong Because I wasn't wrong? Everything I've read says they offered Trump time after the NASCAR race only AFTER Trump AND an FCC commissioner both posted on SM that NBC had violated the equal time rule. I suspect SNL did what they did without checking with NBC legal and once the sh*t started hitting the fan NBC had to do something. That doesn't change the fact that they had violated the equal time rule. They just mitigated the damage.

No, you don’t violate the rule unless equal time is requested but not provided. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/kamala-harris-snl-appearance-violate-equal-time-rule-1236052572/ “The FCC’s equal time rule requires American radio and television stations to offer equal time to rival political candidates. However, the burden falls on the candidates to request those equal opportunities, and the agency’s policy on the rule states: “Equal opportunities generally means providing comparable time and placement to opposing candidates; it does not require a station to provide opposing candidates with programs identical to the initiating candidate.”

I wonder if anyone can see any reason why we might question the motives of that one commissioner. Quote Following her brief stint on the show, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr posted on X, formerly Twitter that it was a "clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC's Equal Time rule." Carr, a senior Republican on the commission who was appointed by Trump, went on in the post to suggest NBC should offer equal time to "other qualifying campaigns."
