Proposals/changes for 2025

- allow ww/fa during playoffs

- concrete deadlines for commitment, payment, drafting 

- change to 1 conference (vs divisions)

- discuss changing playoff criteria 

- discuss changing playoff format (how we determine league champion and final placement)

- change drop amount: 30 - number of picks

Get rid of divisions. As it is, it's a joke. Top 5 records get in, then highest scorer. Just take a look at the records/divisions.

I’m not married to it, but I’ll throw it out there for discussion:

criteria for playoffs:

FFPC..  4 make playoffs 

1 seed: best record

2 seed: most pts (excluding 1st seed)

3 seed: next best record (excluding 1 and 2)

4 seed: next highest pts (excluding 1,2, and 3)

 

I would extend this to six teams

5 seed: next best record (excluding 1-4)

6 seed: next highest pts (excluding 1-5)

 

there are bonuses ($$$) for 1 and 2 seeds. We could do that for top 3

edit: if a team has best record and most points, it gets both payouts

Sorta agree with this.  The league divisions are a bit silly.

another idea from FFPC...

for championship/final placement:

start playoffs with weekly average (wks 1-14). 3 week playoffs (15, 16, 17). final placement based on total of four scores (weekly average + wk1, 2, and 3 of playoffs)

Proposed:  You only have to cut your roster to the amount of picks you have.  No forced 5 regardless.

Examples: 

You have 5 picks, you have to drop your roster to 25 prior to the draft.

You have 7 picks, cut your roster to 23.

You only have 3 picks, cut your roster to 27.

Etc...

Forcing someone to drop 5 players if they've traded several of their picks for players is asinine.

I think as soon as regular season is over we should have the rosters unlocked, I don't see why its locked til like August

Counterpoint, I like that the rosters are locked between the end of FF season and the FF draft.  There can be free agents that rise in value during the offseason and I think its better those players are available in the FF draft as opposed to whomever picked them up first during the offseason.  But I would agree that as soon as our draft is over lets start having waivers run every Wednesday or whatever it is, dont need to lock it after that IMO.

im not talking about adds, I am talking about drops only

If I recall, the reason rosters are locked is so this is not a year round league.  I kind of like that.

The entire reason for dynasty is to be year round. Maybe not free agent pickups. But drops, and definitely trades should be good to go. I'm ready to offer some players for picks if that's ok.

Whatever rule change we have to make that stops the focking fiasco of not being able to pick up anyone going into the playoffs/championship game I'm in.

I will look into seeing if we are able to do just drops and trades....but I doubt we will be able to without adding players as an option.  

Looks like we are in agreement on waivers running through the playoffs though.  That will have to apply to all teams, even if they are not in the playoffs.

Notice I am a week late in responding to this!!  I am not in football mode much during the offseason, and sure dont want to have to check this bored every day.
