My Monte's Transmission is Focked

 Dear Penthouse not you average tranny thread but my GF drove the Monte Carlo a few blocks more after the tranny fluid was leaking out like crazy. Not her fault but my mechanic says I need a new $3500 one. The motor 3.8 Supercharge seems rather okay even at 200 grand and body is not bad and new rockers 3 years ago. What's my option used tranny 60 or 70 grand or more or just junk it ? 3500 is not a option for me right now and not sure I would if I could, love the car though.

Focking Monte died on a Friday night and thank God I still had the old 98 Toyota to take and murder my dog on the Wednesday. Life can punch you hard in the face in a row and not care.

Can you have it rebuild? When my 63 Buick transmission went out that’s what I was able to do, took longer, finding the parts for a 63 Buick transmission wasn’t easy, but it work , lot cheaper, I missed a Hot August nights , but it runs great.  That was in 1998.  

Its an option instead of buying a new one, and a good option if you have other transportation.

Thanks, rebuild is over 2 grand option so kinda out, My best bet is used one and a mechanic that will put it in or junk it or sale for parts. Curious to hear SUX advice, Thank you though.
