Will sanity and simple common sense eventually restore the Democrat Party to a normal place?

Might it arise that these really bad politicians erode their voting base to such an extent that the profoundly stupid go back into the shadows, and normal people can repopulate?

We're seeing the demise of the Democratic Party in real time. The ramifications of Wokeness and DEI are on full display and even hardcore Dems have gone Republican.

I don't want violent people around in any manner. If they are illegal, and they have done these things, deporting and banning all future entry doesn't seem like a bad thing. The article below that with AOC in the title, says that these offenders can be deported. Is that so? Does that typically happen? Is there any merit to Jayapal's quote below. 

Jayapal said it would "create a chilling effect for reporting future crimes" and "empower abusers to go after immigrant women and children."

I am opposed to this bill. But @RLLD the answer is yes because the Republicans are going to win the messaging battle on this bill and others like it. To the general public it’s easier to argue for a bill like this than against it: being against it is a more complicated argument. So yes Republicans are going to win the battle on this IMO. 
 

That being said, long term it doesn’t really matter in terms of Democrat electoral chances. We remain a two party system and despite all the grumbling that’s not going away. When the Democrats are not in power (like now) they will always be the alternative to the party IN power. No matter how extreme Democrats might get they will still win when the public gets weary of the party in power now. Thats the main lesson I took from the 2024 election.

It’s true. And they will miss Trump when he’s gone. He’s all they have. Those ideas have been soundly rejected by the majority of Americans. And many other Americans just vote against Trump, not for the likes of Biden and Kamala.
