Trump is pissed at what this country has turned into and I don't blame him for being aggressive and over the top in his communication style. He has woken people up to the big government and their big spending sexual, DEI and woke  agendas.

I'd welcome any information you have that says otherwise.

Whether the Biden administration took the proper steps to address it is another matter, and the Inflation Reduction Act didn't exactly live up to its name.

LOL, @The Real timschochet showing his leftist elitist ignorance once again.  He thinks WV can't afford SP/ED funding.  The state of WV spends about $2.5M (that's right, the whole state, "Million"), on special ed funding.  Of that, $1.5M of it comes from the state itself.  Just a tick over $1M comes from the feds.  @The Real timschochet doesn't think the state of WV can't manage to get an extra $1M from the 1.75M residentes in the state.

You know, I'd hate for @The Real timschochet to have to use google, but here's the link showing what WV spends and where the money comes from.  It's from last July, not many years ago.

I'm willing to bet that the state of WV sends more than $1M annually to the DOE.  The worst case scenario is that WV breaks even on that front.  The most likely scenario is that they send multiple millions of dollars to the DOE and would actually have a surplus.

I threw out West Virginia as an example of a poor state and it is one. Of course if left to their own devices the good people of West Virginia would insist on spending money on special education. But the fact is they could use that money elsewhere. When I wrote that they couldn’t afford it I meant it. I firmly believe that special ed, and many other education programs, really do need federal funding and administration, and that’s why we need a department of education.

And you seem to be arguing here that every state in the union pays more into the Department of Education than they receive. I would be shocked if this is the case or even close to the case.

I'm guessing no.  I say that because anytime you look up federal money, they say how much each state is giving then they give you approximate percentages on where it's going.  For example, NJ got like $23B from federal money like in 2021 or 22 (can't remember for sure), and education money is in there.  Prior to COVID, NJ was pretty much always under $20B.  Now, I do know that NJ was paying around $2.5B.  So, if they're getting around $2 to $2.3B, and paying $2.5B, that means NJ was getting back as much or less than what they paid.  At worst, it's a break even.  At best, they get a bump.  So, again, why bother with the DOE at that point? 

Knowing that our government likes to take our money and put it places they don't belong, yeah, I'm pretty confident that states always pay more than what they get.  Hence, I'm willing to bet those numbers are pretty standard.  Not the same dollars, but the same rates.  Meaning, at worst, it's a push.

Same with immigration policy.  It should be fixed by congress.  Until then we should enforce our border and immigration laws and all Americans should support that.  You're very selective in when you think the rule of law should be followed and when you think it's ok for illegals to invade our country.
