It was pretty clear to anyone without TDS colored glasses that Trump believes Putin won't break a deal made between the two of them.  Like it or not Trump is in charge and the smart play would have been for Tiny Z to work towards that deal.   Instead he just lost any and all leverage.  He's cooked.

Common knowledge if you have paid attention.  Trump doesn't think Zelensky needs any security because Trump thinks Putin is going to listen to him.  Trump thinks Putin respects and fears him.

I am talking about the negotiation process as it is today which is what we are talking about. It has taken years of slowly building alliances and testing Putin, crossing his meaningless red lines to get where we are now.

He isn’t going to do anything except talk. His army is crap, they barely have matching uniforms at this point. 

A deal should be easy to make - war ends current lines are drawn, Ukraine is in NATO if we want so this doesn’t happen again. If you don’t like it Russia fock off as long as Ukraine wants to keep fighting here you go here’s more of our weapons which we replace here. If you don’t like losing land Ukraine, tough shet this is the best deal you get. You side with Ukraine’s end of this however, not Russia.

So, we were supposed to get minerals and in getting minerals; we were going to keep Russia from taking the rest of Ukraine and assuming control of the minerals.  Now, because of this SNAFU....we don't have a mineral deal and we're not going to supply arms to the people who were going to give us the minerals; and instead, Russia is going to take them.

 

If Russia moves quickly and moves in, how did we "art of the deal" this to our benefit?
