If Trump had said, “I’ve capped administrative costs for grants by the NIH awarded to scientists for the facility housing their work” it would not have had the same effect - on social media, here, on cable news, etc - as holding a brave young child aloft on national TV. It’s not a serious discussion.

Every president tries to do their feel good moments. Usually normal people buy into at least those. Liberals were total retards in that speech. I initially thought they needed to show up to work and do their job and not boycott the speech. But after seeing them, I was embarrassed for them.

Except that NYT or WaPo don't link to Breitbart or Treehouse (whatever that is).

Because the NYT is a deep state operation which actively suppresses information which does not promote their deep state authoritarian agenda.

I have been on message boards since 2000 and NEVER once have I seen a LIBTARD be converted to a normal thinking person.

Sadly I never have either!

I used to be a Democrat, then I grew up

It's not about just liberals, you can't really talk to anyone about politics and "change their minds." You've gotta have a pretty compelling argument.

So, you did change your positions.

I have changed my opinion on quite a few things over the years, some of it resulting from conversations with conservatives and links/information they have provided to me. Not necessarily wholesale, 180° changes, but changes nonetheless.

I have changed my position on a few things listening to :gasp: liberals, but none here. It's near to impossible at this site to have a worthwhile discussion with anyone here. It turns into name calling, and once that starts, I'm out.

There are people here you can have a conversation with. The insults and name calling suck, but don't be hesitant to use the ignore function. Not seeing seafoam or horsemanure posts helps immensely.

Do a brewery visit. Upper Maine has a bunch or rather just on the upper east coast. Dogship or something like that. Shipdog!!

Western Michigan. You would love Founders especially if you like dark brews. Even in KC, Mo. there is a place that is eluding my thoughts. And that city's bbq is freaking awesome.  Arthur Bryants. My favorite is probably Jack Stacks on Holmes Rd. Underrated if they are still there.

My girlfriend and I are not bar rats, but breweries are super fun.

I'm going to pause on the politics again. It's been interesting but it's too time consuming. I am taking a trip to Amsterdam and Bruges soon, and I may post on that. If you have any recommendations especially beer wise please let me know (in another thread). Have a good one, and do try to be nice to people.

They used to be American hating liberals when I went there but I had fun. Things are changing now though.  I went to a few of these places and it was really fun.

Independent local craft breweries with a taproom: Walhalla, Poesiat & Kater, Butcher's Tears, Troost, Two chefs, Krux, Homeland, Kleiburg, Naeckte, Wispe, 7 deugden, De Prael, Friekens, Rauw Brouwers, De Engel, Lions Head.

Don't blame you for the pause.  seemed to me that your utter hatred of Trump personally clouded your thinking to whatever he did is horrific regardless if it was a good thing.

Good luck in your future endeavors.
