2025 NFL Draft Profile - TE Colston Loveland

Recommended Posts

I don't understand the pick when Omarion Hampton was staring them in the face at 10. They clearly needed a RB and didn't take one till the 7th round. Horrible draft IMO.

I was more surprised they took him over Warren.  I was fine with not taking a RB there.  Swift and Johnson are still good RBs on the roster and they can grab someone in FA.

they drafted a tackle who is projected to be a plus starter eventually.

thats at least something.    is it enough?  I dont know.   presumably they will start him out at guard.   all I know is the team needed O line help.    while this addresses some of this, I had hoped for more.    and I'd argue they needed the O line help more than they needed a TE and/or WR.    though I do see the attractiveness of having a young WR who can grow up with your starting QB.

Agreed.  Biggest need was to build that oline.

Wasnt that surprised.  Most reading had Warren and Colston pretty close.  Warren seems like a rugged guy and probably eill br a good football player.  But his skillset never screamed top 10 pick.

I dont love taking a TE nor RB 10th overall tho.  Especially when both positions were very good/deep this year.  Colston has more dynamic recieving ability on paper at least.

They added OL in free agency and there wasn't value at the position with the 10th pick.  They were in position to take the best player available or trade back.
