2025's ROOKIE of the YEAR

Recommended Posts

Now that the draft is over there's high expectations for players this year. I'm curious to see what you guys think on who will be the Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year. There's.a lot of players who could garner this award this year. So, let us know who you think will win it on both sides of the ball. Will they win it because of heir talent or because of the team that drafted them. Also, if you care to, what kind of production do you see coming from these potential ROY'S. I have some guys in mind and will post here later but I'm interested to get you guys opinions because a lot of you are very knowledgeable about football in  terms of real and fantasy. I'm.sure some of you will nail the ROY on offense and defense so let us know your players and why they will win the award. Thanks for your input.

No clue about defense, but baring injury, I don't see how it can be anyone other than Jeanty.

  • Outside of Ward and Dart, I don't think any other QB is going to start enough games to warrant consideration.  I think Tennessee and the Giants are just way to bad overall as teams (they'll win like 6 games each), for them to put up numbers and hype to get into the conversation.
  • There are other RB's in situations where they will or can take over the starting relatively early.  I think Hampton, Harvey, &  Johnson have the fastest, easiest, and clearest paths to RB1 (roster), touches.  I don't think any of them will put up the numbers that Jeanty probably will.
  • McMillan has a great opportunity to put up big numbers in Carolina and could challenge Jeanty.  I'd like Hunter more if his QB didn't suck and Thomas wasn't there. I think Egbuka will beat out Jalen McMillan for the #3 role in Tampa... IF (big IF), Godwin isn't ready for W1 and misses some time and is then metered, Egbuka could have a very good season.  Still, his volume still won't be match what T. McMillan and Hunter will have.
  • Too many mouths to feed in Chicago for Loveland and the Colts probably have the worst QB in the league, so I don't envision a strong season from Warren.  Not sure any other TE will have a big enough impact to be in the conversation.

I'd rank the favorites as....

  1. Jeanty
  2. McMillan
  3. Hampton
  4. Hunter

Anyone else would have to put up a totally unsuspecting season and a couple of the top 4 would have to either get hurt or be a shocking disappointment.

Offense                                                     Defense

Rb) Aston Jeanty +250                           Lb) Abdul Carter +250

Qb) Cameron Ward +300                        Lb) Jalon Walker +750

Wr) Travis Hunter +700                           Cb) Travis Hunter +800

Wr) Tetairoa McMillan +900                   Dt) Mason Graham +1200

Rb) Omarion Hampton +1400               De) Shemar Stewart +1700

........................................................................................

From that list I think Hampton has the best chance at good odds. He's on the Chargers with Harbaugh likely to give him 200+ carries. For better odds I'd consider Denver Rb RJ Harvey at +2500.

Defense... Graham. Browns already have a good defense so that'll make him look even better.

Can I parlay Hunter to win both?  I'd drop a Lincoln on that if the payout is worth it.  I'd throw a Washington on a Hampton/Graham parlay as well.

That'd be incredible. Supposedly, he'll play more offense so might be hard to get that defense trophy.
