We've already had one tragic crash of an airline carrier, other smaller accidents and close calls.  Newark is almost shut down, no ATCs.

That road rules guy and his fox News host wife better figure something out quick before we get another disaster.

Maybe qatar can donate someone who knows what they're doing.

This is a huge issue that should be addressed  immediately. Newark is a dump but at least land the planes. This will seriously fock up travel to NYC.

Newark is notorious for being a disaster of an airport. When having to travel that way, I'll pay more to fly into LaGuardia or even Philly to avoid that place.

I use it because it is the easiest to get into Manhattan.  An airport this size having these issues is insane not to mention it all cascades down the line if there is an issue on a particular day.

I’m old enough to remember when the Transportation Secretary took time off to breastfeed his baby and it led to the worst supply chain disaster of the century.  Team MAGA has to clean up after 4 years of neglect.

You probably have more experience traveling that way than i do. I'm only there 2, maybe 3 times a year at the most. My experiences have been horrible. I don't think I've ever been on time when departing.  

Sometimes I'll even flly into Atlantic City Airport a day or 2 early and rent a car. I love driving way more than flying

Oh that's weird because we didn't have any issues during those 4 years.  It's only when the reality TV stars took over that everything started going wrong.

It’s a total dump but it’s a closer ride to Manhattan for sure when I would be arriving in afternoon. JFK traffic always is gnarly into the city (and the terminal my airline uses also sucks). Always take the morning flight out of NYC! Sucks to get up early but delays are much less!

Beyond all this tho, fix the GD airports. WTF is going on, heads should be rolling.

EWR has always been fine.  I use it when flying United to SFO but will go to PHL for American destinations.  JFK international.

Someone at work is in Aruba this week and her kids were flying out of EWR.  I told them to switch to JFK but they refused, hope they made it down there.

I have a buddy flying into EWR in a few weeks and I'm trying to tell him to switch to PHL or the local Mercer airport.

My airline out of Seattle gets the crappy terminals in the NYC airports so I always spend as little time there as possible the only good thing about Newark is the Firehouse Subs

JFK terminal I get is total dogshit too. Bunch of duty free shops, a crummy food court and one crap bar.

Not just about upgrades   Biden's administration moved control of Newark's airspace to Philly TRACON from NY's, but kept the data flowing through NY.  On such an antiquated system this made things less reliable.  Apparently they've added fiber optic lines to either replace or back up the copper lines theyve had forever and are testing them.  Once those go online things in Newark should improve.

I fly American once or twice a year to EWR to visit my daughter in Manhattan.  The new/redone terminal is gorgeous, and security is quick and efficient.  Also, convenient train schedules all day to/from Penn Station.

This is independent of whatever is going on currently with ATC of course.

The Airtrain is great.  I've used it several times the past few years.  But I do not plan on using EWR anytime soon, will be PHL or JFK.

I'm not sure what the JFK schedule is from PHX, but there are good non-stops for me to EWR.  LGA is closest to her as the crow flies (she's in Washington Heights) but kinda a pain to get to, also would probably need connections.  I hate connections and would rather drive/train a few hours to avoid them.

I'd consider Philly in a pinch if EWR is still an ATC mess, but JFK might be better.  Actually, my next trip might be in September, and it is part of a HS reunion where I could fly into Philly.  I hate the Philly airport though.
