I saw them on the "For Those About to Rock" tour in Houston, and it was the nastiest, most low-life audience I've ever seen. It was as if it were a field trip for a maximum-security prison. Ungodly volume of drugs going around. Fights everywhere. I was with a date, and about all I can remember of the show was how scared I was to be there. And it got a whole lot worse. While going out to my car, this gang of young Hispanic dudes wearing red bandanas surrounded me, pulled out knives and said, "Gimme your wallet or we'll stab your ass." I thought it odd that they would target my butt, but all I had in my wallet was 6 cents, my DL, my school ID and a couple of lame credit cards. So I handed it over, and they ran off. Once home, I filed a report, mainly to report the stolen credit cards, and a policeman came over. I asked him what would have happened if I had refused to hand over my wallet, and he told me that at a Bad Company concert two weeks earlier, a gang matching what I described stabbed a guy to death after he refused to give over his wallet. About a week later, my mom called and said someone had called about the wallet. It was a young girl who witnessed the robbery. She said she saw them rob me, run under a street light, open the wallet and then get mad when they found nothing in it. They threw the wallet in the trash, which is odd because they'd commit armed robbery and murder but not litter. The girl said I could come pick up the wallet at her house - which was in the Fifth Ward, Houston's worst ghetto. My mom said nope, and the girl mailed the wallet to her house. Not only was getting robbed terrifying, but it was a long time before I felt safe going to concerts again, and even then I'd only go with a big group. I contributed a colorful story about my AC/DC experience, and jtardo has to bring his baloney in here, even though I don't see it because they're on ignore. Something I'll never get is how some people consider "Blow Up Your Video" is their worst album. "Flick of the Switch" and most of their recent crap are their worst albums. "Blow Up Your Video" kicks ass. If they'd taken the best songs off that and the best songs off "Razor's Edge" and put them on one album, it would be as good as "Back in Black." I long considered AC/DC my favorite band, Back In Black my favorite album, have seen them a couple times now, own all their albums, etc. Flick of the Switch and Stiff Upper Lip are my least favorite. Every original studio album they've released since Razor's Edge (other than SUL) has been somewhere between meh and good. I actually liked Power Up quite a bit and consider it their best album since their heyday. Bon Scott was awesome, but Brian gave them a better voice for their style, and it's hard to argue with the success they've had with him. Where we disagree is with your last statement. Both Blow Up Your Video and The Razor's Edge were fantastic standalone albums and you besmirch both by suggesting they be combined. Some buddies and I had a long conversation about this recently (yes we're dorks, but there were extenuating circumstances) and pretty much unanimously agreed that everything between Back In Black and Razor (except FotS) is underrated, especially Fly on the Wall. Great, great, great band. Definitely on my personal Mt. Rockmore.

I didn't like FTATR other than a few songs, and that combined with getting robbed and moving on to punk rock and alternative music made me bail on them until "Blow Up Your Video" came along. I agree that "Stiff Upper Lip" is not good, while "Power Up" is pretty good.

Title track and Night of the Long Knives really stick out to me. Haven't listened to it's entirety in years. You and I were on a similar trajectory in our youths. I got into punk in the early 90s and most of the classic rock and metal I'd been into sorta faded away. Most of the grunge stuff, while great at the time, bugs me now. But it was my gateway into punk, so it served its purpose.
