What’s so ironic is that he could end it quickly- not in a day but in a few months. Simply put economic sanctions on Russia’s biggest trading partners: China, Germany, and Turkey. Putin would come to the table immediately with a much more favorable offer for Ukraine.

Just prior Biden removed sanctions on Norstream 2.  Russia cyber attacked US companies. 

The meeting went so well it was ended early and joint press conference cancelled. Nothing came of the planned discussions of Ukraine and the imprisonment of Navalny. Less than a year later Russia amassed troups on Ukraine's border.  Despite Bidens phone calls telling Putin "Don't" he invaded. A year later Navalny was dead.
