The Bella seizure:

- It was originally flagged under a different nation. It broke through the US cordon into open seas. Mid flight it changed its flagging to Russia & changed its name.

- Russia sent a submarine & at least one surface ship to cover it.

- When the Bella was seized Russian ships were off the side, within eyeshot. 

- Our British allies’ navy assisted in the capture.

- The Bella was in the ***North Sea, perhaps headed to Archangelsk or other arctic port.

It’s a punch in the nose & humiliation to Putin, and comes on top of what we just did to Russian air defenses & Wagner troops on the ground in Venezuela.

I’m as mystified as anyone else, but it should be acknowledged. Otoh the US has left the Chavista regime fully in place & we’re still not even mentioning Cuba & Nicaragua, which certainly indicates we’re still hands off anything involving Russian clients states. And not a word about democracy or rule of law anywhere. - This seems to be specifically about a certain chunk of oil.
