Dallas Goedert Big Board TE 22??

Recommended Posts

TE 22??

Hes ranked behind Elijah Arroyo and Chizo Okinkwo

I know he’ll miss a couple games and they will run the ball but he finished as TE 10 in PPG in 2024

Laporta 10.9 PPG

Goedert 10.4

Very concentrated target tree in Philly.

Any injury to Barkley, Brown or Smith will raise his weekly floor.

Color me confused on this one

Here's my guess, and @nobody may concur... availability is a players best ability.  😁  You can almost assure yourself that Goedert will miss 4 games.  Since his rookie season, he's missed 1 every year.  Over the last 5 seasons, he's missed 22 games, averaging 4 per year (averaging 5 games missed over the last 3), players don't get healthier as they get older.  If people are using cheatsheets/rankings, where assumed games missed is being taken into account, they'll find Goedert way down in their rankings.  If you're ok with your TE missing a quarter to one-third of the season, then take him at the discount and be happy.

There's also recent history.  The Eagles threw the ball less than 450 times last year.  Yeah, Kellen Moore is gone, but the passing game coordinator got promoted.  My guess is that people are anticipating more of the same as last year, being a more run-oriented offense.

That tells me "Late round flyer".

Goedert has a ceiling... his floor is pretty low because you don't know how many games he'll miss.  I'm thinking both are viewed as backups, so a person is saying, "Would I rather have an aging guy who's on a low volume team with a limited upside or a young guy who may be worse... but could be a lottery ticket".  More times than not, they're taking the lottery ticket over the aging veteran with limited upside.

Don’t worry,  drat a te in the double digit rounds, and stream until you find a winner.

No way in hell Okonkwo finishes ahead of Goedert.  He can't catch.

Goedert is boring.  That's why he's ranked low.  Boring players are one of the last great exploitable market inefficiencies in fantasy.

Jesus Christ the Internet is so trifling.

Ok.  No way chig outscores goedert unless goedert misses another like 7 games or whatever he missed last year.

Everyone happy now?

If you score weekly, Weeks 1-14, both teams had a bye week, so in those 13 games Chin outscored Goedert 7-6 hth.  Because Chin was on the field, so weekly the chin owner would have a slight edge.   Thanks

Now based on Avg, I rank by avg, Goedert is the better pick.  Thanks

Chug played in all games 1-14

Goedert injured his hamstring first offensive series week 5 and was ruled out 7/8/9

I have quickly remembered why I don’t post much anymore

Prior to the injury, Goedert had been on pace for a career-best season, with 24 catches for 301 yards through the first four games.

Play him in his healthy games.  You don’t take a zero in redraft.  You put in another TE and get those points too

Redraft , one should never roster more than one te.

Have you played fantasy football before?  You don't start players that aren't playing because they're injured.

I like Goedertt a lot this season. He's on a 1 year incentive laced deal with no competition behind him. They even just traded away Bryant, they're supposedly TE2

At the cost, I'm in 100%

I’m hoping that his adp stays current, so I can get him in the double digit rounds, great value.

It may move a little but not much I believe. He's always undervalued for some reason.

As an aside if you look at TE stats weeks 1-4

Goedert #1 in total TE points and #2 in PPG

*Kittle had early bye

**Bowers was just getting going

But them them the facts

The reason Goedert was so low initially is that my formula heavily penalizes missed games. Goedert typically misses a few. Nevertheless,  I changed his missed games projection from four to two, which should now have him around TE14 or TE15 on most of my boards.

Of course, Matt. Thank you for your kind words.

As much time as I spend on these boards, I don't get a chance to really ponder it until the Version 2 round comes out. I still think Goedert will miss a chunk of time this year, but it should not keep him from being a low-end TE1 when he is on the field.

If I knew Goedert would play 15 games, he's definitely a top 7 TE.

Last year, Goedert was TE27, but TE10 in fpg.  Kicker, 1 game he played 3 snaps (no targets).  Take that 1 game away, he averaged 11.5 fpg, making him TE7.  He was TE5 in 2022 and TE8 in 2021 (all those in fpg).  He just gets hurt too often and misses too many games.

According to ADP, he's TE14.  I'd have no problem taking him there and someone else a bit earlier to make sure I'm covered.
